We are semiarid, so don't have much snow. For one thing, we always seem to be south of the jetstream.
Although we get little snow, it's only a 30 mile drive to 10,000 foot Grand Mesa, and there's already three feet of snow there.
Weather, of course, goes in cycles. When I was young, and living in the same area as I do now, we had much more snow.
The older you get, the less "magical" snow seems, especially if you're out in it, and cold.
Wish I could afford to be in Florida during the winter.
