Rupees!
January 10, 2008, 04:27:30 PM
I have five of these silver Rupees now, but have so far photographed only a couple of them. I may add the others later. I am really getting into Rupee collecting and I think these coins rock....

First off, the 1901 Rupee - which is actually jammed in its capsule and I can't remove it so I took one of the photos with one side of the capsule off and the other photo with it on.

1919 Rupee..

:p

Matty, depending on the photo editting software you use, you should be able to set the cropping tool to a perfect square automatically.  And, barring that, I just set the edges of the crop against the edges of the coin to get rid of the unnecessary background. And since most coins are relatively circular, you end up with a pretty decent square. ;D

Wow, that 1882 Rupee is gorgeous. This forum got me into Florins....I guess it's time for Rupees.

Absolutely beautiful coin AuldFartte.

You have just got to love the Gothic head of Victoria, it is one of my favourites.

Nice bunch of coins there, but Matty's 1901 is a splendid sample.

Your coins are wowing me Snooba! - the first coin looks like a very old Rupee? so is very interesting for that reason alone - and the third Rupee, is that a rare error???  :o

NumisMatty,

The first is a three lines script. E.I.C. Bengal Presidency, year 19. Mushidabad half-rupee.
The third is a full brockage Indian rupee.  I'm not sure what year it is.  But I love it!
Your 1901 Rupee is absolutely beautiful, Matty!  It is a really gorgeous coin!   :) :) :)

Snooba.

All the rupees are cool! I especially like Matty's 1901 (sharp!), Snooba's full brockage (don't see a whole lotta those!), and Sap's 1835. Awesome stuff guys! ;)

I have a twin of Sap's Coin to add, thanks to the generosity of our Knight-friend who chooses to remain unnamed. :)  Thank you much for this gift!

Do add this coin to my collection?
