Noodling finds
June 21, 2015, 12:26:03 PM
Trying to get motivated in this cold weather is just so hard but managed to start on a few bags for a little noodle and for the first time ever I found a round 50 in the pond, not bad for a coin that's been floating around for nearly 50 years so pretty happy, and like myself I would be happier if it was in better nick but beggars can't be choosers  ;)
Ok I have no idea on how to do it but just hit the "insert image" and just got some funny bracket things show up so if it's ok I'll try tinypic's :)

Now to see what other goodies I can find  8)

Nice find AJ.
I doubt it's been in circulation since 1966.
Someone has probably had their collection stolen.  :(

Now don't go letting the truth get in the way of a good story Steve but yes I don't think it's been in the pond that long  ;D

Yes either stolen or had to dump them as times are tough, had to do it before myself regrettably  :(

Thats a really nice find.  Could you explain what noodling is in Australia.  Just wondering if it is the same thing as it is over here.  I wouldnt do it, but are you trying to catch catfish by using your arm as bait?

That about sums it up, except we don't get our coins in rolls, so we can't call it "coin roll hunting".

Yes been through this on ccf and I think you yanks need to get with it as we have these things called fishing rods and nets these days  :D  makes life easier and you don't have to worry about other things down the hole, but I do like the idea  ;)
There are quite a few things you's call different name, one eg are cantaloupe and here in oz we call them rock melons  :D

why did this change c c f to mum and dad site  ???

When you get bulk coins from the banks they give them to you in either big plastic or calico bags that have smaller bags or sometimes if your luck you can get rolls in them, the 5, 10 and 20 cent come in $100 lots then 50 cent are $200, $1=$500 and $2=$2000. The 5 cent are either $2 or $5 per small bag depending on the bank, 10's, 20's and 50's are $10 per bag and $1 has $20 worth and the $2 have $50 worth.
here's a few pic's of how I get them depending on what bank they come from
calico and plastic

rolls

small bags

But this is what we want if we can get them, I have only ever got one of these, a bag straight from the mint

The KOTCT forum sort of pokes fun of C C F.  Since CCF politely asked them to leave!

Jayson, when you want to post pictures, don't use the quick reply box at the bottom of the screen, use the reply button (coloured blue) after the last post. When you click on that, you will see a browse button (coloured grey) underneath the text box. You can load up to eight pictures per post with this. Just browse the files in your computer and upload the pics. Give it a go mate.

Nice find AJ. Did you notice the bear's name (Brown Bear) is written in Croatian?
This is only on odd years. On the even years the name is written in Latin.
