Here is the new design for the one pound coin, set to be released in 2017.
I quite like it.

It's coming very soon.  :)

It seems that the Island of Guernsey will not re-dresign their £1 coin. Instead, Guernsey will withdraw their £1 coins and only use the £1 banknote.
I am not sure whether Jersey will do the same. The report is a bit unclear to me. It mentions Guernsey and ''Channel Islands.'' Jersey isn't mentioned by name...

P.S.:
Did some research. Jersey will do as Guernsey. They will also withdraw their £1 coin.

The new pound looks similar to the old thrupenny bit, which is probably right since the buying power of the two is the about the same.

Might be about right.
The basic postage rate for a local letter in the UK was 3d back in 1967.
What does it cost now?

A first class stamp will go up by 1p to 65p and a second class stamp by 1p to 56p on the 27th of March for a standard letter.
