Thoughts and prayers to Australia

I've been closely following the story of the terrible person who took hostages in Sydney Australia. The news is indicating that the situation may have been resolved, but they don't seem to be certain yet. I hope all of the innocent people are ok. And I hope all of my Australian friends are in safe places.

It does appear to be over. One hostage was shot while wrestling the gun from the gunman as he dozed off. The police then raided the cafe and another hostage was shot and also the gunman. Two other hostages and a policeman received non life threatening injuries as well. A sad time indeed.

I suppose it could have been worse, with all the talk of bombs and dozens of hostages I heard at the start of the situation. Very sad indeed though.
