Paper Money Finds 11/29/13

Picked up some nice world banknotes today at the MSNS Fall Show. First is the new Canadian $5 polymer note dated 2013.

Next is this strange looking U.S. $2 note. Looks as if someone laminated the face of this note with an "Ohio" theme of some sort.

I know this is not a banknote, but I also found this nice cover from the Cayman Islands, 1976.

These next 2 notes are what I believe to be Notgeld from Germany. The first note is for 5 million Mark dated 1923 & the second note is a 10,000 Mark, counter-stamped for 50 Million Mark, dated 1923 also.

Do you actively collect Notgeld?

Steve I don't really collect the Notgeld that much anymore. I already have an extensive collection, but these I couldn't pass up. I am not even sure that these would qualify as Notgeld. They are rather large notes (100mm X 150mm or larger) whereas most paper Notgeld are smaller in size. I looked thru the Krause Specialized catalog but could not find these notes anywhere. I wonder now where the dealer got his prices from? I actually passed up about a dozen pieces of smaller Notgeld last week at the Redford Show only because I was trying to save all the money I could for the big State Show this weekend.

Also if you notice the one piece is counter-stamped with a larger denomination. Also the other note has the very cool-looking dragon on it.
