And how do you clean them ?

I WOULD JUST USE THOSE EYE GLASS CLOTHES AND WIPE VERY GENTLY AND THEN PUT THEM INTO THE AIRTIGHTS........

Templar no cloth dip them in acetone to remove finger prints.

Next time I'll ship with airtites included I have a whole box of them..

I used the finest silk on a silver coin and it is scratched forever under a 12x led loupe
I have only experience with acetone on gold and in order to view no deposit the acetone needs
to be at 22C roomtemperature to flash off and even then repeated washes with distilled water may be needed to see nothing under 12x magnification
When using acetone wear unlubed surgical gloves and have enough ventilation
otherwise your fingers will turn frozen white and you may have an headache for a day
Been there done both

Great looking medallions! Looks as though Daniel has done it again. Maybe I won't be unemployed next time around and will be able to participate.

NEVER "wipe" a coin with ANYTHING !

To remove fingerprints and the like from other-wise "mint condition" copper/brass/silver, I recommend using a "dip" cleaner.
"Tarn-X" is a brand of liquid silver/copper cleaner that I've used and it is generally available at Wallgreens and similar stores (in the USA).

Submerge the coin in the liquid cleaner for about 10 seconds.
Completely rinse the coin with clean water ("tap" water is ok).
Pat the coin dry with soft clean cotton bath towel (never rub it dry).

I got some advice from somebody who has been in the "restauration" business" for
years eg Seven of Eleven

If you are an expert a longhaired camel brush would clean without leaving tell tale traces
If you are going to use a silver dip any dip then fingergrease can act as a protecting shield so first remove grease with acetone and only then dip

Dip removes material so do not overdip or it will be visible for years to come

Best is to have a set of cotton gloves like I bought and to put silver coins in a holder wearing those gloves. You can wash them because eventually they are as greasy as your fingers

Tap water containing calcium ( hard water ) will show traces under 12x magnification

I have had much success with using window cleaner -- the kind that leaves no traces on windows--
First acetone ( then dip on silver if needed) then tap water cleaning and if still traces then window cleaner

NGC cannot see acetone but they will see dip ( wisdom from my coindealing friend who has seen it all : included batch certification passing more easily then single coin cert )

Where I am going I ain't certain
Where I am going I don't know
All I know is that I'am on my way
