Good evening all,
After 48 hours without electricity, water, heat, etc. we finally got all three returned to us. I am 3 blocks east of Ground Zero and just two blocks from the east river. Many of the restaurants, stores, apartments were destroyed east of us. My friend's apartment, just across the street from my complex had water up thru her second floor apartment. Her chest of drawers and 8 foot oak table floating around the apartment. Still, things are returning to almost normal. In retrospect we spent weeks dealing with the smell of burning flesh after 9/11. The winds blow west to east and we were not evacuated. Guess God was good to us on this one. Say prayer for us and those who did not weather this storm as well.
