Indeed, a day to remember. I live 3 blocks from Ground Zero. I was here thru it and long after. We lived breathing in the smoke and residue for days and weeks after the attacks. We were not evacuated. You should know, however, how our community came together. How we took care of each other, the children, the elderly, the homebound to keep all safe in a war zone. We stood shoulder to shoulder as Americans. There were flags everywhere you looked. In an out of New York folks were proud to be Americans and partisan differences were put aside. Alas, it did not last very long. You should know that as were mourn those lost to us, we stand strong and take pride in our community and our nation.
