I have a couple of leather coin pouches from the late 19th century that were actually used for and still have the coins in them from that time.  There was a custom during that time to save the money that someone had when they died and keep it as a memorial.  So I have one set of great great grandparents coin pouches.

That's neat! I love owning old stuff that once belonged to relatives who have since passed on. I have an unopened can of my Dad's favorite soda and his deck of playing cards he used to use to play endless hours of solataire with.   :)

I agree with you guys. Its is very nice to keep some memories of your beloved ones. I have some of my fathers and grandfathers stuff that i have been keeping for the last 24 years. I usually look at them every now and then when i miss my father. They give me joy.  :)

Amr, I miss my Dad very much. He will be gone now 7 years on August 31st. I keep a card from the funeral home with all his information on it (name, date of birth, date of death, etc..) tucked away in my Bible, and after reading my Bible every day, I pull out the card and think of my father. I miss him so much. I hope he is proud of me for the way I turned out. He did an excellent job of raising me. No one could ask for a better Dad!   :)

Pray for him every day after reading from the Bible, thus no one could ask for a better Son  :)

My grandparents raised me and even though they have been gone for years I still carry their lessons in my heart and mind. Best mom and dad a child could ask for.

I thought the Indians found that correct way to soften leather was to chew on it.  ;D  ;D

Didn't the Eskimos get their old (often toothless) women to soften their leather like that?   ::)
