This is incredible
One of my dogs got yarvitan to lose weight and this is supposed to give vomitting and diarhea and lack of intrest in food and liver load etc
and it is a disgreace in the first place that a vet prescribes this imo
since the expected weight loss is 6 % with 33% chance of vomitting and 5.2% chance of
getting "comatose" apart from the liver problems

After 14 days the dog only vomitted and could not even drink and the vet said that an operation would kill her and that it might be uterine infections since they were  both in heat 2 weeks before and he gave saline infusions in the hind legs for god sake

So I paid 21 euro to an american internet vet from justanswer
She said find a vet and have her operated

So I found a vet who operated the dog today ; but since the "clinic" is closed at night in this holiday they gave me back the dog still asleep from the narcotics and said to administer the drip in the neck .

It seems yarvitan is approved in australia ; americ and europe and if I had known the risk benefit I would never ever have let my wife go ahead

My dog was actually my grandmother's dog until 6 years ago when she could no longer care for him - he is a large dog, and of course overweight.  All the effin dog food in the world will make him fat, even the "diet" food.  So I went radical and put him on a rice diet, brown rice - not white rice.  He didn't lose all the extra weight, but lost enough that he has more energy etc.  Of course the brown rice has lots of fibre, so he is "regular"!  Part of the benefit of the brown rice diet is it cleans him out, and his predecessor who was a similar breed to him lived to be 22 on the same diet with brown rice.

My dog has allergys, so we have you control his diet.
We make his dinner for him, it is a combination of meat, rice and vegtables.
The meat is varied, but mostly Kangaroo (very lean meat), also horse, donkey, camel, or goat
and the vegtable is usually sweet potato or carrot.

If yarvitan is available in Australia, I might go get some for me. I'm the one who needs to loose weight. LOL

I'm very sorry to hear that, PYW.  I can imagine how upset you are, as my son and I are both devoted to our Maltese Shih-Tzu.  I wish you the best of luck in resolving your problems.

I sincerely wish you the best now.  I can appreciate how you feel about your dog.  I love my pets better than most of my relatives - and unlike the relatives they love me unconditionally.

When my previous dog was about 4 years old we took her to the vet because she had stomach troubles and kept throwing up dog food.  The vet was pretty blunt and said she would not live a long time, probably only a few more months.  So we brought her home, took her off of dog food and started feeding her more rice mixed with a bit of meat for flavour and she seemed to improve.  She really never got over the gacking when she ate.  Curiously though - she outlived the vet that condemned her to an early death.  And by a considerable number of years - she died aged 22 years in 1997.  She was an Australian shepherd, and seriously they are amazingly loyal dogs.  My current Aussie is hyper protective of my daughters, he will tear you apart if he thinks you are threatening them in anyway.

Shared an Australian sheep dog for a few years. This blue merle was the perfect family dog, in a group of young children expected to be petted. Always alert. Very aware of changes and perfect early warning of people coming into the yard. Anyone attaching his family would loose their throat in a heart beat. At 11 year of age could be only seen as a blur in taking out a mouse in the yard.

Thank you guys
Me and my wife were heartbroken
But old Dan was right of course I got two English Cocker Spaniels again .
The twin sister being 9 years and a new one from the same breeder being 4 years

I reviewed the data and without anyone in the same trouble I do not have a chance to legally challenge
Johnson and Johnson's subsidiary Janssens Farmaceutica. So it will remain a statistical coincidence

Scottish : yes dogs do not lie nor disappoint you or care whether you got money

Our "health food " over here preferred by vets is sheep and rice ( no read meat)

Great news, and now getting used to the 'new' personality in the home... they each have their own and it will take a while for both you and the new Spaniel... they learn fast and accept change (usually). How is the Sr. Spaniel handling the situation?

The breeder had 50 breeding and retired dogs split into two clans ( roodles ?)
My dogs are of the same clan. The oldest a tricolor black-red-white was the underdog for 9 years coming second all the time ( the twin sister that died was a super dominant red)
The new dog is brown and white and subservent too
They are really trying to make out between two subservent dogs who is the least subservent and the leader of the pack  :D

The change the new dog has to accept unfortunately  ;D is not to get deepfreeze sheep and rice everyday
but horsemeat and chickenmeat and fish and carrots and peas  etc
The only thing she dislikes is tomatoes ( which my other dogs all liked )
I guess that is because tomatoes do not smell
She has no problems with smoked salmon, shrimps, crab etc and french fries

The breeder was amazed she ran stairs ( which she never did before)
The breeder whom I know for 25 years now said she went to heaven without dying
Unfortunately he got Alzheimer and refuses to acknowledge reality of 40 dogs remaining which are
mostly "unsellable" >:( and his wife at 75 cannot handle everything alone
