How my other hobby helps fund my coin addiction.
December 27, 2009, 02:16:29 AM
Got the statement from our detecting account today total funds in the account $861.88
Still have about $30 waiting to be rolled.
Here are the keepers and the silver Purchased using the account over the last 2 years. When I was told the detector would pay itself off over 2 years I was thinking 'yeah right!' but in two years we have found enough to pay off both detectors and purchase better models should we so desire. I am not advocating metal detecting as a hobby as it seems we do way better than most (plus I don't want the competition)
but it gets us out of the house and would seem to turn a tidy profit.

With your efforts in the medallion drives the past 2 years I must assume your metal detecting has also benefited our hobby as well! Now get back out there and find some gold!!! ;D

Wow .... love that silver. it's great to have an enjoyable hobby that can also bring in funds rather than just eat up your funds.

You're doing well N H 587. I also use my 'findings' to purchase coins. I sell tokens and keep coins and other neat stuff. As for the small metal cars, planes and trucks, I must be up to around 70 by now. Yes, detecting findings can pay for your detector. I sold 4 tokens that paid for my DFX detector 2X over.

I once had a job selling refrigerator/freezers to Eskimo's in Alaska. Don't know why, but I never made good money at it! Also opened a restaurant called "Big John's Spaghetti & Meatballs On A Stick". Unfortunately, that never caught on either! Dang, what am I doing wrong?   ::)
