By the way who is Matilda?

It's not a 'who':

It's a bushmans swag - a sort of rolled up bag that held his possessions.

A bushmans swag (also known as a "bluey") is a bedroll, originally a blanket if he were lucky, but maybe only a piece of hessian, or wheat bags - hence the term swaggie. Clean clothes, if possessed, would be in the roll. Usually the only other possessions were a billy (to make tea in) and a "tucker bag", usually an old flour bag, knotted at the top, not rolled.

*laughs.*  Nevol, your explanation isn't quite an explanation to us Americans.  You need to post a dictionary!

A billy is a can... and tucker is food.  I'd imagine the picture isn't too far from what our railroad hobos were. :)

Do add this coin to my collection?

I love spring and Autumn. The best times of the year. Not too hot and not too cold.

It has been autumn here since about July - at least it felt like it.  Now it is winter, as of early October - we have already had snow flurries and frosts.  We had a very cool summer, and look to have a cool fall and winter now.

A TUCKER IS A FOOD BAG--OUR HOBOS CARRIED A BINDLE STICK AND THEIR BELONGINGS TIED TO IT--ANYWAY I THINK THE COLORS ARE WORTH A LITTLE "WALTZ"

A few months ago I researched the songtext of Waltsing Matilda
Seems the songtext of today is not the original
But without the wiki explanations of the guy camping by a bog I would not have understood what Waltzing Matilda means  ;)
I think the closest is taking your backpack for a walk

It was the team of the 1959 film On the Beach played throughout the film
Story is simple : in the post atomic war the Aussie submarine is the last survivor

Where I am going I ain't certain
Where I am going I don't know
All I know is that I'am on my way

So lets see if I got this right. My great Grandmother Matilda was really my great grandmother bedroll. And my Uncle Billy really was a can and not in the can. I don't think I even want to talk about Trucker.  ::)

IF YOUR GRANDMOTHER MATILDA HAD A BEARD SHE WOULD BE YOUR UNCLE BILLY AND THE TRUCKER WOULD BE IN THE CAN---HOWEVER IF UNCLE BILLY HAD A SWAGGER--WELL THAT WOULD CHANGE THE WHOLE SONG AND THE TRUCKER WOULD BE WALTZING AFTER HE GOT OUT OF THE CAN--THAT'S MY STORY AND I'M STUCK WITH IT
