I Hit The Jackpot!!
May 27, 2009, 03:18:26 PM
I went to my bank today, the Bank of the West.

Asked about new coins and found they had Tyler Dollars and Type 2 Lincoln Cents.

Bought four rolls of Tylers and 20 rolls of Lincolns.

Have already given away 10 rolls of Lincolns to the family, and am spending the first roll of Tylers.

Lots of fun when the bank comes through.

Oooooh!  Could I please have a couple Tyler coins?  :-*

Just one of each mint will do, if you still have them.  ;)

I need the Tylers for collectors in Europe (and myself) and would be very greatful to get my hands on some Lincoln rolls if they are the 2nd release? Let me know what you can do and I will just PayPal the funds your way. Always keep in mind we are new coinage STARVED here in Indiana. Don't know whats going on at the present time but are dealers can't seem to get them either. Good grab Gary!!!

Terry, IF I can make it to the coin shop next week and the dealer has the new formative years Lincoln cents. How many do you think I should buy to cover me, you and KOTCT store? Again, this is an IF I can make it. And who knows if he'll have them. But he did have the Denver minted Log Cabin cents pretty quick after they came out.

Terry,

To start with, there would be no charge.  Remember the beautiful Euro you sent me as a gift!

Tell you what, I'll send what I have left tomorrow.

After I have taken care of three kids and six grandkids, as well as Pat and I, there aren't too many left.  You will most certainly get them.

I still have not opened the LC's, but assume they are Denver.  Looked at a Tyler, and it was Denver mint.

The bank clerk was very nice, but she took a long time in the vault.  Then, based on what she said, I think I cleaned out the last of them.  I can check again, but I think they are gone.  As I said, you will get everything I have leftover.

The turtle leaves for Indiana in the morning.  In the meantime another one should be arriving any day.

 :) :) :) :)

Thank you CoinCrusader! You are indeed an asset to this forum and this Hoosier.

Now I MUST say I too hit the jackpot. Earlier this evening I received word from a publisher my recently finished novel has been accepted for publication. I will now await a contract and submit the rest of the novel. After 15 months of writing and 3 months of tweaking things, adding a bio and an outline I have finally reached a summit I doubted I could climb. Will keep you posted!

Terry:  Great news!  Happy for you.  A friend and I have long talked of working on a book together.  Don't know that it will ever happen.

Nancy:  You are most welcome.  Will send you an extra and maybe you can use it for trading.

Gary, if you still have any spares, I would appreciate one of each if possible.
If not, I will get them from the store later. Thanks.

Well now the work begins! I have 31 days to submit the total manuscript due to formatting errors. Seems we first time authors can't do anything right!!! Should sign a contract in the next week and get started on the huge task before me. Took 15 months to write it and now I have one month to make it right! :'(

I have received word ALSO on the second Lincoln cents that were released recently right here in rain soaked Indiana. THEY ARE ON THE WAY to me as we speak!!! Both P and D so hopefully KOTCT STORE will have them soon. Will keep you posted.

I still don't understand why the circulation of these new cents are so spotty but am fully aware of the Mint cutting production numbers this year so hopefully someday they might be worth something. I do know some of the statehood quarters in unc. ROLLS are rising drastically. Perhaps the roll collectors will make a few bucks on their efforts after all!

Steve,

Might be able to get a package sent your way today.  If not, then on Monday.

Have been having a little trouble with the turtles.  They threaten a strike, and I counter with turtle soup.  You know how it goes.

The contract has been SIGNED!!! Now all I have to do is finishing re-formatting the whole manuscript and get it on its way. I do hope they are QUICK on this one! Already planning the second book of the series if this one is successful.
