I think come septembre gold is going thru the 1000 like a knife thru hot butter

It is now virtually sure they are closing Opel in Antwerp ; like 6000 people out of a job but Belgians in general are going on holiday and to
restaurants like nothing happens . Nearly nobody has a clue to the second power over here . Even the " savors" at the Iceland Kaufpting bank
are getting their savings back in a take over move where the taxpayer is surely loosing again .

The Monday half of the synchronized simpletons  says China will save the world by selling themselves rice bowls and chop sticks.

WASHINGTON (AFP) – US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on Monday urged China to shift its economy away from exports and toward domestic demand to strengthen the global economy and scale back pollution.

Sounds like the Armstrong Pie Company did.  ;D

After the Armstrong Pie episode there's this:

"In Europe the banks have a good hustle going – almost as good as in the United States. They borrow money from the European central bank and then lend it back to the government."

Guess we're not the only ones getting  the golden sach-bag.   ::)

Well that's typical isn't it? They've been selling us crap for the last 25 years and now they're livid  that we're paying for it with crap?

We're in the same situation with china that England was in after WW1.  We were displacing them as the financial center of the the world and we  were their biggest creditor having financed the war for them.  We finance a lot of their industry too before the war.  That's the real reason the Great Holy Arch Angel  Wilson decided to "save the world."

But  we and England are kissing cousins so it all stayed pretty civil after a spot of tea. That's not the case with china. We don't like them and they probably don't like us.

I still think we're looking at big time deflation first. I believe the  synchronized simpletons will screw it all up and their "green shoots" will blow up in their gargoyle faces. I believe china and the  bond vigilantes will help the process along.

A lot of  people are preparing for hyperinflation in the U.S. I rather like Bonner's take on that:  "where's the surprise?"

About the only thing we learn from history is how to screw it up even more down the road.   :(

'"At bottom," said Rauschning, "every German has one foot in Atlantis, where he seeks a better Fatherland and a better patrimony. This double nature of the Germans, this faculty they have of splitting their personality which enables them to live in the real world and at the same time to project themselves into an imaginary world, is especially noticeable in Hitler and provides the key to his magic socialism."'
Louis Pauwels & Jacques Bergier--Morning of the Magicians

Ha ha! And then the Synchronized Simpletons give us "green shoots" instead of Atlantis?

Here's a news story which makes a lot of sense.
----------------------------------------

545  PEOPLE
By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world  who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever  wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if  all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have  inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget.  The president does.

You and I don't have the  Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of  Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress  does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You  and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve  Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one  president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human  beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally,  and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague  this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve  Board because that problem was created by the  Congress.  In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty  to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central  bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a  sound reason.. They have no legal authority.  They have no  ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one  cotton-picking thing.  I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash.  The  politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what  the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility  to determine  how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy  convincing you that what they did is not their fault.   They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What  separates a politician from a normal human being is an  excessive amount of gall.  No normal  human being would have the gall of a  Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating  deficits..  The president can only propose a budget.   He cannot force the Congress to accept  it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the  land, gives sole responsibility to the House of  Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.  Who is the speaker of the House?   Nancy Pelosi.  She is  the leader of the majority party.  She and  fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want.  If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if  they agree  to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can  not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of  incompetence and irresponsibility.  I can't think of a  single domestic problem  that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.  When you fully  grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal  government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to  exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it  unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in  the red ..

If the Army &Marines are in  IRAQ ,  it's because they want them in IRAQ

If they do not  receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available  to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no  insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift  the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can  abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to  regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can  take this power.  Above all, do not let them con you into  the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the  economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing  what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they  alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the  power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the  people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the  gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of  them out of office and clean up their mess!

Charlie Reese is a former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel  Newspaper.

What you do with this article now that you have  read it.......... Is up to you.

This might be funny if it weren't so darned true.
Be sure to read all the way to the end:

      Tax his land,
      Tax his bed,
      Tax the table
      At which he's fed.

      Tax his tractor,
      Tax his mule,

      Tax all he has

      That you won't be done
      Till he has no dough.

      When he screams and hollers;
      Then tax him some more,
      Tax him till
      He's good and sore.
      Then tax his coffin,
      Tax his grave,
      Tax the sod in
      Which he's laid.

      Put these words
      Upon his tomb,
      Taxes drove me

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY? Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the most prosperous in the world.  We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.
What in the hell happened? Can you spell 'politicians?'

I read this morning that the military are getting helicopters and other junk they expressily told CONgress they did not need
But lobbyists are too powerfull . Whether you need it has no importance .

Jim Sinclair reported an hospital first aid where it says on the door ; If you got the Mex Flu DO NOT ENTER HERE
Is that why the military are being trained to assist ? To keep sick people out of hospital ?

PYW, toilet paper at least retains some value as long as it is not used yet, paper money dies and is useless - it is not quite well suited to using to wipe one's underside after a bomb dropping session in the lav.

Gees, I turned down an offer just yesterday to purchase 50 Pamp 1 Oz bars, my wife would have flipped if I had bought that many in one buy - but a $20 rise in one day would have offset her arguing.  I did buy one though, so I have another Swiss Miss to add to my collection of mistresses in gold from around the world.

The 2 things I fear the most: #1 Dying; #2 Taxes. I live near St Cloud, Minnesota. A few nights ago that city council voted for a "Street Lighting" tax, whereas everyone who has a home/business in the city will begin to pay from $2.25 up to $3.50 PER MONTH for their street lighting. The mayor then said, "Oh, this isn't a new tax, we'll just lower your city taxes by the same amount." Guess ya gotta believe him.........Hogwash!! The worst thing about this un-tax is that it will rapidly spread to other cities throughout the U S if it hasn't begun elsewhere.

Do you mean Lady Fortuna with the horn of plenty ? I got an old one still welded in . Strange Miss made in Switzerland and only available in the USA with all the risks and taxes for a European . You could have made a quick 15% by selling them on ebay germany on top of the gold rise of 20 $  ;D

The latest is motive bars in copper on ebay germany
They still offer them in one kilo
Once they offer them in one ounces it gets dangerous

I got offered a unique euro essais in gold . I have been webserfing all day and the only thing I know is that the designer is one of the 345 french engravers . So the coin ( according to french law ) could be legit

I have a few copper bars and even a few engraved aluminum bars but I bought them to educate my little guy concerning metals and weights. The aluminum bars are huge but have to be if they are to weigh anything at all. I don't even remember their weight now but do remember getting everyone in the family names engraved for free. (Yeah right)  The copper bars are heavy and quite a neat feel but the distributors really have them FAR FAR overpriced to sell many. I still prefer silver and dream of gold. If I hadn't lost that big paying job back in 2005 my gold would still be with me. My little guy has quite a stash and doesn't have a clue what he is worth. I like it that way.
I see the White House is NOW asking guest to pay for their meals with credit cards! I could save the government and taxpayers millions if they would just let me take over for one year. I would kill thousands of stupid, useless programs and out of date programs the same time I shut down the IRS. You wouldn't want to know about my tax rates for the rich!!!

The minimum sized coin for sale in Ukrainian banks is 2.5 grammes.  You people in the west like your paper money, here in the Red East, we do not trust paper of any kind.  Even coins in small denominations are worth more to keep than paper.  Smart people buy their savings into gold and do not trust banks.

Is it just me or does Obama's so called "socialist agenda"  seem a bit light on purges? All I see is a continuation of bushe's  Seig Heil for the Korporate Land. Only far more sneaky and indirect.

And if that's not confusing enough for the sheeple we get this from a man who seems to have trouble even filing tax returnes:

"Geithner, in an interview on ABC's "This Week" program, said restructuring the U.S. health-care system is not enough to rein in the budget deficit under control, and he said tax increases could be necessary. "We can't make these judgments yet about exactly what it's going to take and how we're going to get there," Geithner said."

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2009/08/03/gibbs_obama_wont_raise_middle-.html

Right Tim.  Now don't forget to write in a  special tax filing exemption for visiting gargoyles from another dimension.

Direct taxes have to be 50% or more
Sales taxes have to be 18-22% or more
Gasoline has to be 10$ a gallon or more
Then have province and city taxes ; garbage collection and waste water rejection taxes
And tax every dead person 70% so that you do not miss too much of what has been saved in a lifetime

One time solutions
Tax the current year and the future year in one calendar year
Call in all bonds and stamp them good for 1% yield during 30 years no wait make that 40 years

"Sound familiar? That’s the very thing that has been happening for the last two generations. Consumers didn’t want to wait until they’d made the money to take their vacations or buy their houses. They turned to credit. They borrowed against future earnings. They spent money they hadn’t earned yet…thus bringing forward purchases that should have been made in the future. That’s why we have a depression; now, we’re in the future!"

They should have done that 30 years ago. The forecast is bleak whether they come to or not. I suspect most won't wake up until they're bouncing off the assault from forecloser. That's when they'll wake up with no where to go and nothing to lose.  That's when anything can happen.  They'll be a whole freaking squadron of black swans circling soon. So I have a hard time seeing why inflation or deflation matters for metals in the long run. Except maybe to buy on weakness.

Just watch how silly this is going to get. It will all be the fault of illegal Mexicans or code enforcement lumps or a beguiling serpent dangling from  a apple tree or WTF ever. It won't be the fault of  a 30 year Lil Pig Dance on wall street or prozac zombies on main street who wanted something  for nothing.

And if that's not bad enough, about the only thing the zombies have gotten from their "savior" is a pair of synchronized simpletons  in the fed and treasury doing the piggly-wiggly two step with  the same criminals most responsible for this. Man, they better not let the zombies run out of pills and figure that one out.  :o

They are building walls to keep the real money in . They know they do not need the sheeple . They got all the papershufflers they need and enough hamburger flippers . They asked the Swisse the name of all mericans that have an account there . The answer was no way josé

In the meantime they are splitting Freddy and Fanny in a good bank and a bad bank . But this work is going slowly .

What Americans is he referring to that have 6 month  expenses saved up in the bank?

Maybe we should build a bad baboon cage? Each week we can put a democrat and republican baboon in the cage and they can throw their turds at each other until one of them capitulates. Why would a bank cash the IOU from California?  The bank wouldn't be able to get money from the state anymore than the businesses can.  Besides banks are in the same sinking boat.  One bank I have $4 in is expected to be taken over by TARP any day now.

If you read the article you will see that the state of Cali refuses its own IOU's as payment for value added tax payments on a delivery of T shirts it ordered and received and never paid
So they order goods and never pay but want the sales tax in US dollars

Wow! That's great news! Dow 25,000 here we go! Maybe Chris Dud and his side kick Barnacle Ass can start a new program:  "Cash for flunkies."   In this program you just give the mortgage payments to the flunkies to mail back. If they can do that and lick a stamp without hurting themselves, they get a bonus.

When it was "morning in America" we were told constantly that wages increased 3.2% in the last quarter.  They fixated  on that number and on the word "aberration" to explain away increases in inflation. But  then they got smart and just took out all those "aberrations"  from the inflation basket. I always made it a point to mention the 3.2% increase in wages to "the Gipper" fans. Preferably at 6:50 AM on a construction site just as the sun was coming up. "Look! Its morning in America! Hey maybe you can buy new Peek-Up rig,  now that you know how much your really making, huh?"

But alas, now the  Bonner says  real wages in America haven't increased not even one decimal point  since 1975. Which also seems to be the very year U.S industry started to circle the drain.   :'(

"...In a musty old hall in Detroit they prayed,
in the Maritime Sailors' Cathedral.
The church bell chimed 'til it rang twenty-nine times
for each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald...."

We allready have 25 years of solidarity behind us ; since they gave it all away by the 1985's and they had to

Waste amongst the peons is a sign of prosperity.  Back in the old days, when investors actually assumed their own  risks, some of them toured the country dumpster diving to see if  people were still throwing away 3/4's  of a Big Mac. Today's  investors don't have to  "soil themselves" like that.  They'll either be richer or the taxpayer will be poorer.

What they're also doing is simply cutting back hours. So five people would normally 200 hours a week. If you cut all five down to 32 hours a week you have 160 hours a week or the equivalent of one person unemployed. But they'll say "well actually" they're all at work so they're all employed.  We have full employment now---Dow 25,000 buckle up!

In unrelated news the Minister for justice in Belgium as just asked for a law that will oblige
the internet providers to keep all date for 2 years instead of only 6 months. Who logs on to where and what were
their emails . Off course this is in the fight against terorism if you believe it  ???

The caption in that cartoon above this post is what the "war on terrorism" is really about. More to the point it's the war to prevent succession-itis.  They want to keep the  Hosts supplying  blood to the parasite sector  instead of becoming a  global  underground economy.

I used to be heavily involved with our local newspaper, writing and photography, and I found it odd that anyone involved with law enforcement would NOT talk with me if I was using a cordless phone. They would tell me to call back on a land line. My connections finally advised me that EVERY call was being monitored and I am talking 1990s and early 2000s. Just imagine what they can do now. I do know they can now turn your cell phone on to locate your where-a-bouts and turn it back off without you being none the wiser which leads me to believe perhaps these new digital TV's can monitor BOTH ways? I think the real truths would astound us if we only had a clue!!!
I still say we all had better brace ourselves for HUGE shocks in the near future!

Stock market jumped today after the Port Gargoyle   felt  those "green shoots" again. The Starboard Gargoyle must be in China teaching statistics.

Bill  Bonner wants to know how the "Chinese Miracle" produces yet another  9% GDP when they are an export economy whose exports have declined by 22%.   ::)

Maybe they're exporting them  to Moscow. I hear there's a toilet paper shortage there.
Oh yes, I think it's official now: WE'RE SCREWED.  Fifty-three prominent economists say the recession is nearly over.

GARGOYLE POWER! :   "So, the feds aren’t taking any chances. Yesterday came news that the Fed would continue buying bonds at least through October. And they are not likely to raise rates either. The banks can borrow at practically zero interest…and use the money to buy Treasury bonds. The 10-year yields about 3.7%. In effect, they’re lending the money back to the people they got it from…and earning 3.7% for their trouble."

It's funny how the same things happen over and over. We had a pretty severe recession that started about the end of 1974 and lasted until about the end of 1976. And amazingly enough during that time there was a "sugar shortage." And we grow it here. Florida grows sugar cane and so do the gulf states along with sugar beets. The same scumbags keep getting away with the same games over and over again.  >:(

My earliest economic memories are of empty shelves
Everytime somebody would say the commies are coming or they are going to drop the bomb
sugar, rice, salt shelves were empty . For ten years or more my grandfather had 100 pounds of rice and 100 pounds of sugar and cigars behind his living room coach
In the countryside we still used quartered newspapers so toilet paper was not a necessity of life  ::)

From Bill Bonner

"How do you like this recovery? Pretty good, huh?

Except for the jobs, of course.

And except for the retail sales.

And except for the foreclosures…and house prices. And incomes. And consumer prices. And business profits.

It’s like a female impersonator…just like a real woman in every way, except for the essential ones." Daily Reckoning 8/14/09

Hehehehehee Our "economy" is  the Rocky Horror Picture Show!

"Michael Rennie was ill
The Day the Earth Stood Still
But he told us where we stand.
And Flash Gordon was there
In silver underwear,
Claude Rains was the Invisible Man.
Then something went wrong
For Fay Wray and King Kong.
They got caught in a celluloid jam.
Then at a deadly pace
It Came From...Outer Space
And this is how the message ran:"

If your not spending, the terrorists
have already won.

Okay I made that part up.  ;D

It seems like Colonial is going to cost the FDIC the last of their money or close
Remember the FDIC balance sheet is due 27 august and after that could be a week of bankholidays

I do not know why ; but again I only found a Flemish ref

But get this the New Trabant is going to be all electrical and sounds better then the GM monstrosity
Well it had German engineer designer helping

When they  produced the Volkswagen again in the late 90's boomers went crazy for them.  But they weren't the same German engineering, German built Volkswagen from  their draft card burning days. They were modern enough that you couldn't work on them either and built in Mexico.  But, gee, don't they still look like  the  the  old VW?  Yeah they did. Boomers were paying for the worse of both worlds just so they could feel like dumb ass hippies again.

Thank God the "War on Terror" and Hummers came along huh?  Now they can beat their chests instead of burning their draft cards. I Just hope they can get parts for their GM product.  :o

Maybe they should have kept the two stroke engine in that East German car. It still might be cheaper than plugging  it in.
