I hope they enjoyed those bonuses. Even as unions were dying in the U.S the membership routinly voted bigger and bigger pay raises. Their BA's still drove around in big black Cattys harassing business owners. The UAW was getting something like $48 an hour in pay and benefits for assembly line workers. Where are they today? Where's their fat pay checks? Where's their pensions? Gee, where's the assembly line? It collided with this:
"Strength becomes weakness,
weakness becomes strength."
Sun Tzu
The worse thing that ever happened to the United States and Capitalism was the fall of the Soviet Union. When it fell it demoralized all "ism" movements around the world. However comical they were they still had a good effect on toning down the extremes of Capitalism. They (The "Gipper," apparently all by himself) killed the fox that kept the rabbits in check. The rabbits went on an orgy.
And now it's flipping back the other way which was all too predictable. Even as they celebrated the fall of the Berlin wall, even as they celebrate today the collapse of bogus investments with stock rally's, it still does not alter this:
"Strength becomes weakness,
weakness becomes strength."
Sun Tzu
That's the other half of "change is good" that the drones are so fond of reciting. I hope find this good, because it's here:
"...I went down Virginia,
seeking Shelter from the Storm,
caught up in the Fable
I watched the Tower grow,
Five Year Plans and New Deals,
wrapped in Golden Chain,
and I wonder, still I wonder,
who'll stop the Rain..."
Who'll Stop The Rain
