Lincoln cent BIEs
April 21, 2008, 04:49:59 PM
I was just looking over some BIEs on ebay. I had no idea that collectors have become so intensely interested in them that sellers can get away with $3-$6 shipping for a coin that weighs 3.11 grams. I was buying them 5 years ago and the shipping was usually 50c or $1.   :o

I believe that the high 'Postage' costs are mainly for the seller to make more money. IF a coin is great, and IF the bidding is low, I bid and accept the $3 postage. I've seen some 'shipping' as high as $7 for one lousey coin.....mailed in the U S to a U S addy. Now I'm not knocking foreign countries, their postage is high.....and accept it if you send something or receive something from a foreign country. I just mailed a 10 oz package from the U S to an oversea country......cost $10.30. IF I mailed it intra U S A, it would have cost $1.94.
