Picture this, it was a perfect day yesterday, no wind, nice Indian Summer day, about 77 degrees nary a cloud in the sky.
We have an old tree in the far back of the yard that died several years ago, I have wanted to cut it down, but it was too close to the barbed wire fence, and if it fell, would go down on the play house structure and doghouse in the backyard. So we left it there, hoping it would fall on a windstorm day.
Midafternoon yesterday I heard a huge crash, and thought that since the neighbours were having a party with a bunch of teenagers, perhaps it was just something there. No. They came running over and rang up our door with the news, they were out back when it came down, no wind, no warning nothing. Just came crashing down for no reason. We had a windstorm a couple of weeks ago and the tree stood firm.
So it did take out part of the play structure, but barely missed the doghouse.
Hey, but I have instant firewood, and so whence I am not around this week you will know, because I have a chainsaw, but it is not as fun as hand sawing all the would and hand splitting it. It is as though cutting and splitting wood is something I love doing.
