I PICKED UP A COUPLE OF CRISP MEXICAN NOTES AT OUR COIN CLUB AUCTION FOR ONLY $4.00 EACH...........THEY HAVE A 1957 DATE ON THEM AND THEY ARE SEQUENCIAL
 (LAST THREE NUMBERS ARE 221 AND 222).....SO I SCANNED THEM TOGETHER SO YOU COULD SEE BACK AND FRONT AT SAME TIME........AS I LOOKED THEM OVER I NOTICED THAT RIGHT IN THE CENTER  WAS THE MAYAN CALENDAR....OVER 50 YEARS BEFORE ALL THE HOOPLA ABOUT 2012....AND ONE MORE THING I NOTICED WAS THE DATE 4-XII-57.......IS NOT XII=TO 12?

Yes, XII=12 in most places. So it could be either April 12, 1957 or 4th of December, 1957
More than likely the date of the printing and issue of this bill.

I AGREE THAT THE NUMBER IS THE PRINTING DATE.....I WAS JUST WONDERING IF THERE WAS A CONNECTION BETWEEN WHEN THE NOTE WAS PRINTED AND THE NOTORIETY PLACED ON THE NUMBER 12

I am not aware of the day (12th) or the month (December) as having anything to do with  the date 2012. Were this comes in is because their calander ends in this year.  After that there is no more regestery of time, so the assumption is that it must end......

Can you count how many times this has happened in the past? Almost every time you turn around with some of the religions of the world..........or some cult that has sprang up to 'lead it's people'.......

MAYBE WE COULD LEAD A CRUSADE TO DRINK THE WORLD DRY OF ALL BEER AND WHISKEY BEFORE 2012...........THAT IS  A REASONABLE QUEST AND EVERYBODY COULD START IN THEIR OWN TOWN AND DRINK FROM TOWN TO TOWN.........YOU WOULD BE SO BUSY TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH THIS FORMIDABLE TASK THAT THERE WOULD BE NO TIME FOR WARS.......OUR FIRST REAL TASK WILL BE TO CONVINCE THE TAVERN KEEPERS NOT TO CHARGE US BECAUSE WE ARE OUT TO SAVE THE WORLD..........

Not quite true mspec, as I had a glass or two of 'Canada Dry' just the other night, along with some JD to spice it up a might!

Well, the end IS near....stocks on the NYSE down almost 350 pts, (was down 998.50 pts at one time), gold up $32 to $1207/oz (Oh goodie!!), and silver is holding steady...up 17c at $17.69/oz. Will the stock market go lower tomorrow resulting people to run to the gold market again? My guess? Yep. But normally, stocks go up following a 3%+ drop.
