Surprise Coins.
April 13, 2016, 08:03:08 PM
I have a wonderful friend and benefactor, that likes to surprise me every now and then with coins.
Today I received 2 beautiful Liberian coins and a "rare Australian 2c piece", his words, not mine.
He suggested I might get it certified. What do you guys think?

Thanks very much Cy. Most appreciated. :)

I agree it is rare, but that's the beauty of it.  I wouldn't spoil it by getting it slabbed.  :D

The problem with getting the rare Australian 2c piece certified is you would first send it to a TPG. which will cost you a lot. Then you would be bothered with folks trying to buy it from you all the time. Lets not forget the trouble and cost of security for such a rare coin. I think the best thing would be to just keep it to yourself. You could wile it to someone when you die and let them deal with it.  :D :D :D :D

O Great!! Now I've got to worry about inherits tax, international tax laws, what to do with the rare Australian  coin, who to leave it to. :o :o :o Nevol what is your address? Might be better to just keep the coin in your country. 8) After all I would not want to be accused of taking  national trousers.   :) :)
