1776 Continental Currency

It's been pretty quiet in the castle the last few days, so I thought I'd throw this picture up before I have no internet for the next few days.  I came across it at a coin show last week, and it had a $215,000 price tag.  What do you think?

Continental Currency is from the American Revolution.

Confederate Banknotes are from the US Civil War (1861 to 1865).

If we buy the tickets of line from here, they are charging upto $14 per game. Unlike winnings in Aus, which are tax free, if you won the $1.4 billion and took it in a lump sum, you could end up with as little as 500 million after taxes. I think I could still handle that.

I just got back from a cruise with my wife, and have a phone signal again.  I had a chance to stop by the Florida FUN Coin show before taking off, and that is where the picture came from.  There is no way I could or would buy a coin for that much.  I was pretty happy to get a picture of it.  It was actually in a case of coins selling for over $100,000 each.  It was the biggest Coin show I have ever been to.  I bought most of my coins in the budget section and the forigen section.

I have never seen any coins or currency worth $100,000 +.   I do wonder if money was not an issue just how much would I be willing to pay for a single coin or piece of paper money.

This coin is cool because it is double struck and you can see the ghosting of the letters and numbers. I bet it was great to see in person!
