"Anything" eh? How about metal detecting for 'coins'? I'm in the U S and have been detecting for a little over 20 yrs. In the past I've found many old U S coins....Indian Head cents, V & Buffalo nickels, 4 types of U S dimes, quarters, halves, and modern dollars....not any silver dollars. My oldest coin? A large 1.52 T oz Greek 246-221 BC Ptolemaic bronze coin in the U S. Some kid must have been bringing it to school for 'Show & Tell' and lost it.....and I found it. I've found foreign coins in the U S but also some IN the countries of Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Canada, and Israel.
I've found many silver rings, only 2 gold rings, much live ammo of all calibers, tokens (3 very valuable), U S Civil War artifacts, many religious medals, 120 yr old dog tags, and other stuff too numerous to mention. By request, I've also found a few gold items that were lost by their owners. Metal detecting is a great hobby......try it, and find those coins. I average U S $23 common coins every yr.
