Got me a new computer
August 08, 2014, 06:22:33 PM

Don't know if any of you have heard of the Hewlett Packard Slate 21 All-In One PC.

Well I now am the proud owner of one and as it runs on Android and not Windows am finding it hard to get use to.    SOme of the functions in Windows do not apply here.

The 21" screen is great but it is just like an Android Tablet or phone so many programs I am use to do not work with Android.

Some programs have android equivalants but not all.

Anyone else have one of these and what do you think about them.    It is good that they are considered virus proof (so far) but I still have a lot to learn.

Printing is one problem......works only with a WiFi printer and even then only in some programs.    Have to use a cloud for something and I think there is a storm brewing.

Give us your thoughts!

I haven't seen one of those computers. I guess like anything new it will take some time to get used to.
It will be interesting to come back and give us a report in a few months time.

I've hear of these but have never had one in my hand. I do as a rule like most of the Hewlett Packard stuff. Have had real good luck out of them. Now this cloud thing  is something different. It seems like every time I get on my computer some program or another is wanting me to use the cloud. I just don't know about this. You know my daddy always told me, "Boy keep your hear out of the them clouds".

Marketing says these appliances ( and win 8) are aimed at
young adults that have used these interfaces all of their young lives
I refused win8 and went with win7

Where I am going I ain't certain
Where I am going I don't know
All I know is that I'am on my way
