French Jetons
November 29, 2013, 02:37:06 PM
Found these old time bronze Jetons at the MSNS Fall Show today. Both are French Jetons. The first is Louis XIV dated 1697, and the 2nd is Louis XV, no date, but he ruled from 1715 to 1774.  :)

Jetons were used as gaming tokens, almost like casino chips, or even sometimes used as outright money when there was a shortage of coins.  :)
