P-47 Thunderbolt

About the time TwoShadows and TKO were building
their Corsairs I was trying to find a control-line version
of a Scale P-47 that was small, 30 inches or so. I couldn't
find anything, not even scratch plans. Now, today I was
just surfing around ebay, mostly admiring antique engines
and there it was-classic plans from 1946 of a P-47 that's
31inch wingspan. I wasn't even looking for them anymore
but found them anyway from a seller in Canada. Now there's
just the slight problem of never having built a model aerial
machine from scratch. Hopefully I can count on youtube to
bail me out.

Once you get your plans, take them to an office shop and have about 6 copies made. You build right on top of the drawing so you know everything is the right size and shape. While your there, pick up some thin paper (the kind you can see the pictures right through it), overlay your drawing then begin laying it out. You'll get on to it fairly quick.

By the way... I have a Hangar-9 60 scale P-47 Thunderbolt Ready to fly I need to get sell. It's beautiful! (It sucks being unemployed)

Thanks for the offer TKO.  I really perfer the small
version. I know there's folks flying flying 60 inch wing span
control line models but thats  just not for me. Besides I ordered
the 31 inch plans so I'm commited.

I was thinking to photo copy all the parts that need
to be cut and tracing them with carbon paper to the
balsa?

Do you guys still fly your Corsairs?

Going to try and fly tomorrow evening if the wind is light. Really love my sailplane as I can stay up much much longer. My son has the itch to try flying so there is a good chance I will lose something this weekend! My Corsair is right above my head as I type. Need to enjoy it at least one more time before cold sets in!
