I PICKED UP A WWII SERIES E WAR BOND FACE VALUE AT THE TIME FOR $100----IT WAS GRADED AND PUT IN PLASTIC HOLDER---BUT IT WAS NEVER TURNED IN OR CASHED----IT IS DATED 1945----WELL I TOOK IT TO A BANK TODAY AND AFTER 67 YEARS IT IS STILL GOOD AND WORTH $441.80------CATCH---I HAVE TO FIND THE PERSON ON THE BOND TO HAVE THEM TURN IT OVER TO ME IN WRITING-----THERE IS ALSWAYS A CATCH----------

You need to contact the U.S. Treasure for help. I think they can cash the bond but there may e a lot of paperwork.

If it where for a million dollar and coming from Nigeria I would think you are peddling a scam
With the internet it cannot be difficult to find a german with the right name and give him 100 dollar for his trouble

I bought a $50 savings bond in 1976 and it was
written out "Pay to" rather than "Pay to the order
of."  I believe that's the catch.

But think of the folks who bought "I-bonds,"
bonds indexed to infation. The catch there is
the gubmint selling the bonds also decides
what inflation is.
