Oil reserves
December 07, 2009, 09:00:42 PM
A friend just sent me this e-mail.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's an interesting read, important and verifiable information :

About 6 months ago, the writer was watching a news program on oil and one of
the Forbes Bros. was the guest. The host said to Forbes, "I am going to ask
you a direct question and I would like a direct answer; how much oil does
the U.S. have in the ground?" Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, "more
than all the Middle East put together." Please read below.

The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only
scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a
revised report (hadn't been updated since 1995) on how much oil was in this
area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota, western South Dakota, and extreme
eastern Montana ..... check THIS out:

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska's Prudhoe Bay,
and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil.
The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion
barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel,
we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5..3 trillion.

"When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their
jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.." says Terry Johnson, the Montana
Legislature's financial analyst.

"This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in
the past 56 years," reports The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a formation
known as the Williston Basin, but is more commonly referred to as the
'Bakken.' It stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota and
into Canada. For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead
end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells
decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the
Bakken's massive reserves.... and we now have access of up to 500 billion
barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels
will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!

That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years
straight. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one
should - because it's from 2006!

U. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World

Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the
largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION
barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In three
and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this
motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?

They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders, than
all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:

- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia

- 18-times as much oil as Iraq

- 21-times as much oil as Kuwait

- 22-times as much oil as Iran

- 500-times as much oil as Yemen

- and it's all right here in the Western United States .

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the
environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America become
independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of people
dictate our lives and our economy.....WHY?

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in this
very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION barrels
untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the
world today, reports The Denver Post.

Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find? Think again!
It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to. Think OPEC just
might be funding the environmentalists?

Got your attention yet? Now, while you're thinking about it, do this:

Pass this along. If you don't take a little time to do this, then you
should stifle yourself the next time you complain about gas prices - by
doing NOTHING, you forfeit your right to complain.

--------

Now I just wonder what would happen in this country if every one of you sent
this to every one in your address book.

By the way...this is all true. Check it out at the link below!!!

GOOGLE it, or follow this link. It will blow your mind.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I reckon you guys are just hoarding it, until the rest of us run out.
Then you can ask what ever you like for it and all live the Kings.

We also have a 300 year supply of coal that can, if necessary, be converted into diesel or gasoline. The process to do that has  existed since at least WWll. The Nazi were doing it  to run their tanks.

It is NOT about doing whats right! It is about the filthy rich leeches sucking the life and wealth out of ALL the middle class in the world so there will be nothing left except the royal class and the poor who will then be slaves to the rich for their survival. And then comes the big boom which will come in my 3rd book!!! ;D

But if we didn't have a make believe energy crisis we wouldn't have ethanol and it's incredible conversion rate of 1 output for 29 inputs. What's that a 3.4% conversion?

Oh, and how did we ever manager without these:

Someone ought to check on what the Russians did with their ICBM nose cones.

I don''t know where I got the idea from, but my understanding is that has been a policy decision of the US not to use its own oil reserves, instead preferring to use up all other world reserves first. That has been my uinderstanding for many, many years. Can't recall where I heard it.  The US explores, drills and then caps all its oil fields.

Ah but there is the  possibility that a new ice age is coming and then they can pack of all their environmentalists and ship them to Siberia in an aux pair program with Russia

Where I am going I ain't certain
Where I am going I don't know
All I know is that I'am on my way

If you pulled all that oil out of the ground, couldn't you pump sea water down there and lower the rising tides.
We wouldn't have to worry about global warming then. LOL

I remember someone mentioning to  Alan Abelson-- editor for  Barron's at the time--about all the oil we were importing. This was in the late 80's or early 90's. His answer was something like: Sounds like a good idea. Use everyone's oil first and save our own.

It's the same thing with diamonds. There are  claims that diamonds are as common as freaking rocks in Africa. But they have a diamond cartel that keeps them "scarce."

They can all keep their diamonds and their gas. I'll ride buses and a bicycle.  The bike is good excercise and the germs re-circulating through a bus from a bunch of welfare bums will give any immune system a work out.

And on top of that, me save lots-o-money.

I happen to love bicycling but our greedy auto industry has killed many a program when it comes to alternative transportation. A few years back a group developed a two seater, enclosed in a fiberglass body that was geared to run 45 miles per hour with very little effort. It would hold garage temperature for two hours, had room for the groceries or small kids, had lights as required by law (battery) so it was basically a small car which was environmentally safer than anything ever built. They also discussed and sought investments to build double decker two way,two lane plastic tubes, so to speak, that would link cities. This would provide some warmth in cold weather and eliminate wind challeges to the small car like bicycles. The automotive industry threatened everyone involved until they dropped their quest to actually do something right for a real change. And of course, it would have been healthy for everyone involved but the oil industry and car industry. Guess we see who won?

I might add we have wind gusts at 50 miles per hour with a near zero wind chill and light snow so if I was peddling along at 45 miles per hour would I be going backwards at 5 miles per hour? :'(
As for the oil industry it has been U.S. policy all along to save, save and save. In the end we will get ALL our money back and then some selling our black gold to the rest of the world? Sounds like a plan but as we all know the best laid plans sometimes go astray!

MANY OF THE MAJOR CITIES IN THE US HAVE SOME SORT OF RAPID TRANSIT----BUT MICHIGAN DOES NOT BECAUSE EVERY TIME IT IS TALKED UP THE AUTO GIANTS WORK THEIR MAGIC AND POOF--IT GOES AWAY--BECAUSE SO MANY DEPEND ON THE AUTO MAKERS--OUR TRAIN SYSTEM FAILS TO GET THE MUCH NEEDED SUPPORT THAT THE REST OF THE WORLD GIVES TO ITS RAIL SYSTEMS---NOW THAT THE AUTO COMPANIES HAVE BEEN HIT WITH REALITY---MAYBE WE CAN COME UP WITH OTHER MEANS OF GETTING AROUND OR SHIPPING MATERIALS--ETC.

It is well known, down here in Indiana, that prehistoric leeches actually are the only know species that have been proven to evolve. The slimmy green greedy little devils crawled out of the oceans to evolve into lawyers. And, as we all know, they have bred feverishly all over the world!!! ;D

Damn cow farts and global warming.

We tend to find out who the real nature lovers are this time of year don't we. I can work up a sweat chasing the ole whitetails out there and when I do I simply climb a tree to cool off a bit before resuming the fair chase!!! ;)

It is Summer in OZ.  Temperatures are averaging around 32° Celcius at present, sometimes up to 36°.   :o

Christmas Day is usually a scorcher! Often too hot to be bothered doing anything much! Just try to stay cool.  8)

Further down south in some places in Victoria & South Australia, temps of up to 45° are not uncommon during Summer.  Too hot for me!!!  ;)

In the north of Western Austalia, near Newman, there is a mining town called Christmas Creek.
The maximum temperature there hasn't been under 43 degrees celsius for weeks. Nearby there
is Marble Bar the hottest place in Aus, it has 52 degrees celcius at 4.45pm. Too hot for me!!
