I'd say this coin is a VF or EF. Unfortunately my scans are a little blurry and grainy. Its not a series that I have alot of experience grading though, so any opinions are welcome! PM me to make any offer.
I may get some more Mercs posted  for sale this week too. I don't think I have a 1939 though.

Heck, if you're careful, you can use a sharp knife and easily scrape the D off.....or use a Dremel tool to grind it off....Presto, a 1939-(P).

Oh I use the X-ACTO knife to cut the bands a bit deeper.

Now that idea sounds cool. After cutting, a slight buffing, and presto.....'Split Bands'.

It might also require some metal chasing.  After "Fully Split, Split Bands" comes "Fully Rounded, Fully Split,  Split Bands."   And then you have to eat some deep fried chicken so you can thumb it and dull down that new bright metal. Bet they don't know that one over Beijing.
