Phillipines Emergency Note WWII 25 centavos
October 28, 2007, 10:46:33 AM
This is an example of the Philippino Guerilla money made during the Japanese Occupation.  Possession of this currency was cause for execution.

Do add this coin to my collection?

There is a lot of JIM around at the moment.

Have thought about collecting it some time in the future.

The Filipinos that fought on the American side had guts, they fought hard under awful conditions, and were not even quartered by the enemy if caught.  Yes, it is not an understatement that if Japanese soldiers found even civilians in possession of these notes that they would mete out only the harshest of punitive actions.
