Belarus will issue it's first circulating coins this year..
Do you guys know somebody who lives in Belarus? It's pretty interesting and I would love to get these sets for me and some good friends of mine :)

Interesting to hear that. Belarus is the last of the former Soviet republics to issue it's own circulating coins.

Great looking coins, wouldn't mind a set of those myself.

There is one guy in Belarus who I am writing Emails with, who is not really sure about whether these coins are really going to be in circulating at the end of the year. He says that currently the economy is not stable enough to issue coins. Let's see whether these coins are simply test strikes or circulating coins. I may get a set of rolls at the end of the year if they get released..

Belarus must be a pretty lousy place to live, I sure see a lot of their license plates in Donets'k, and we are not on the border with Belarus either.  I need to find out why they come here to Ukraine.

After a while it turned out that these coins were just specimen that were minted in Slovakia.. So, unfortunately no coins that will be found in circulation :(

I read the article in a Belarusian site, they are not actually circulating coins, only a proposal.  Guess Belarus is off for adopting the Russian ruble as currency though.  If they ever make circulating coins people will hoard them like they do here in Ukraine, I argue with people about change in restaurants, stores etc.  It is disgusting.  Metal always worth more than paper.
