It's very hard to find any of them in circulation, even the German ones.. In several years I have gotten something like 5 German 2 Euro commemoratives, but if you visit a Bundesbank branche and you ask for rolls of these commemoratives (EMU or the in February upcoming Saarland coins) your chances to get these coins are quite high.

I may have had some in Austria when I was there a couple of months ago, but I promptly turned around and spent every single Euro coin and bill I had when I was there, Vienna is expensive, and I don't care for charging things on the card.

Thanks for the informative post, I never can remember exactly which countries they are from. I've got quite a few 2 Euro coins, but I've been "out of the loop" for a while. Looks like I have some catching up to do.

Not showing on mine either.

I have super fast ADSL and it takes 30 seconds to show the pictures and they still show
I used a capture device to snag the page ( snaggit )
I think on a slow line it can take 90 sec or more to start browsing the site

I got 520 kilobytes per second with a pingspeed of 160 milliseconds to ping.symantec.com
Try the main page and select Les commémoratives left about two thirds down
I guess my IE7 has now cached the page . So I will go and look with firefox because this is an open site not needing any registration

On firefox it took 55 seconds to the main page and 10 seconds to an error message that the site existed but Firefox could not find the commemorative page requested  ???
On pressing the retry button in the error message I got the pictures in 3 seconds .  ???
( France is a neighbouring country and they are at work right now and we have glassfibre connections so it could be a very slow site overloaded after 5 pm greenwhich time since they stop what passes for work early at about one hour after their lunch  ;D I loved to work there as a dumb belgian that however was
willing to be educated in the civilised ways  ;D )

There is a transatlantic cable between Europe and the USA ( My first company had a leased line  ) I guess Australia is a satelite connection which probably is expensive and fickle ?

OK I see we are talking cross purposes here. I was refering to the pictures in the first post of this topic.
If I go to the website you mentioned then it opens instantly and the commemoratives fully load in about 23 seconds.
Some beautiful coins there.

I finally  found what I have been looking for
the mintmark is Monnaie de Paris and 1 means first titer purity which with the word pur is 0.999 purity
I was winner of the coin this morning and will post it when I get it
In the meantime anybody intrested in French mintmarks can have this site
It is in French of course
