I don't normally get coins for Christmas or birthdays; my family all says they don't know what I've already got. But this Christmas, my brother gave me an Australian 2009 Year of Astronomy dollar coin - the one with the Parkes radio telescope on it. I'm not normally a big fan of modern NCLT, but I'm a bit of an astronomy buff, and the $1 is a nice design. :D

well I got three coins but unfortunately the previous owner opened the capsules and the static electricity got all the fluff from the box lining on it
and now I first have to shoot them with an old de statisizer I have from my vinyl records days and then airblow them with a hairdryer to try and get the fluff off and if that does not work just dunk them in acetone for which it is too cold right now so I would have to room temperise the acetone first
I will post the pics in the euro thread

Where I am going I ain't certain
Where I am going I don't know
All I know is that I'am on my way

My kids helped stimulate the economy through the use of my wife and I's wallets. Now I am triping over new toys and empty boxes!!! I did do something I have never done in my life and that was to receive emails and PAYMENT (unexpected) for coins sold on Xmas day. Gee, I actually had some money coming in, instead of going out, and I DO like that feeling. Made Xmas unique this year!!! ;D Don't we just love the internet?
I might add I am keeping very quiet about these funds!!! My wife and Santa don't need to know about this!!! :D I see new coins coming the first of the year!

A can of Simonize and a Blue Bowling Ball, LOL...  :D :D :D  Seriously, I got the usual stuff a dad who really wants nothing for himself and everything for his family gets...  A flashlight, shirt & tie, a few books, and several oranges/candy.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas, etc.
Take Care
The Holly King, LOL... ;)

Dozens of presents for the five children under my roof, and nary a one for me.  And that is the way it is supposed to be.

We had a nice get together with most of my family, at our oldest son's home in Grand Junction (40 miles away).

We have six grandkids, and since two of them live just down the hill from us, we spent Christmas morning with them and their Mom.  They had a very nice Christmas, as did the other four grandkids.

I received only one coin for Christmas, and that was a Canadian Olympic Winter Games 2008 Official First Day Lucky Loonie, in a Royal Canadian Mint card.

The coin was from our oldest son Michael (BurkeM).So, it was a nice Christmas, and now, at 12:22 a.m., I realize I am another year older.  Maybe I'll get a Birthday Coin!!
