Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends here at KOTCT! Earlier this month at my local coin club show, I had the privilege of taking 5 youngsters (3 girls and 2 boy-scouts) who came to the show, thru the bourse area (43 dealers) and was explaining all about coins to them. (The 2 boy scouts were trying to earn their coin collecting badges). I showed them error coins, world coins, one girl even got to hold a St. Gaudens $20 double eagle in her hands. Needless to say, the kids were VERY EXCITED about all they saw, all because I was handing out inexpensive world coins to any child that came in thru the doors! The big Michigan State Numismatic Society show is this weekend, and I am taking my 14 year old nephew from Alabama to the show. Folks, we need to get more kids involved in this great hobby of ours in any way that we can. Those kids could be the future great collectors. Let's all try to involve as many youngsters as we can in this, or most assuredly this hobby will someday die out! 'Nuff said! John (Nighthawk)
