Fundraising Auctions for the Royal Treasury, I presume.

There is no real secret to them.  It's a normal auction, just choose New Auction from the top options (Instead of New Thread). Fill in the blanks, and just have the winning bidder pay the money to Twoshadows instead of to the seller.

It's a means of donating money to the Castle Funds, and giving someone an opportunity to buy something whilst you're at it.  :D

Do add this coin to my collection?

Thank you Miss Kitty, and sorry to all for being a bit vauge. I thought that was the gist of it, but wanted to make sure. Perhaps a sticky in that section explaining what they are for and how they work for us newcomers would be a good idea?

I shall do my best to come up with such, Sir!

Muckeye, you are definitely not dumb. I read your posts here and on other forums and if anything, you are a true gentleman, which is so rare these days. This place and others are richer for having you. You are a sort of secret role model to me as I have always been impressed with your manners and politness and I have tried to emulate that.

So you sir, need not apologise to me.

Could some of my senior collegues help me with a few apt words of reply.
I am flattered beyond belief by the words of latman and justabeginner.
I don't want to sound grovelling but a suitable response at the present time is beyond me.
I thank you both from the depth of my heart and for the moment will leave it at that.
regards,

Bob, if I could, I'd just buy you a round so you wouldn't have to say anything, and could hide by drinking your beer. ;)

And you do deserve it.

Muckeye, no reponse or thanks was sought. As I said, I have always been impressed with the way you treat people and your manners. And that is enough for me.

All the best.
