Integrity and Moderation On The Forum

With all due diligence, with fairness to all, I think that a matter of interests to our membership of Knights should thenceforth be addressed, that is when it becomes apparent that moderation might be the order of the day if some discussion hither and there were to have caused some apprehension on the part of another member, that the person whom have the ability to excise such conversations does it responsibly with notification of the participants of the where and why.

Without elaboration, I will mention that a member of esteem within our ranks has felt it untoward which a post was excised without their knowledge.  Indeed, I have found that a discomforting fact of life on CCF, and will note that a couple of times of that on the CCF was enough to terminate therein any such interests in being a participant of that forum.

We are a fine grouping of individuals within this midst, we may not all agree with regards politic, religion etc. but we have the bonds of our numismatic pursuits which bind us together to share our opin, stories etc. regarding our hobbies and additional pursuits in our lives.  Let us therefore be fair towards one another, treat one another with respect as we would wish we would be treated ourselves.  Hopefully we have no sado-masochists within our motley collection of numismatists.

I believe that on this great forum, politics and religion should only be discussed as they relate to the coins collected by our membership, or the authorities that issue said coins, from a factual, historical perspective. Who really cares what you think of Andrew Jackson or Stonewall Jackson? They are heroes to some folks! Who really cares about my opinion of Mormons or Baptists or Catholics anyway? Let's try to keep our opinions of such things to ourselves, and just talk about coins. But if we are going to fire a salvo and take pop-shots at someone's political hero or someone else's religious beliefs, you can expect that anyone who has any guts at all will fire a salvo "back at ya", till someone steps in and says "enough already!" Let's all be friends here and enjoy each others company, regardless on one's religious/political beliefs. Let's share our coins and stories of them and have a good time with our great hobby!

Two things.

First, as we approach our first anniversary, it's wonderful that we have never had ill feelings among each other.  Sure hope it stays that way.

Secondly, on another forum, there is a "General Information" section where members can "opt in," or decide not to.  So members who want to discuss issues other than coins can do so, and other members won't be bothered with the "back and forth."  In fact, that section doesn't even show up on your monitor unless you have opted in.  I'm sure TKO could set up something similar, if we desired it.

First and foremost we need to remain mainly about coins and collecting.  That's what brought us together.

First I would like to say everyone here is ADULTS and I assume everyone here does have a sense of humor? We are also like NO other forum as there are NO closed doors to any of our members. I have been on forums, as CoinCrusader described, and quite honestly I was a bit offended that I had to obtain permission to participate in certain areas? Maybe I shouldn't have been but none the less I was uneasy asking a forum god to let me in?
We all know that our general discussion and liars bench may contain an occassional post that may rile our feathers a bit. If I am concerned the easiest thing for me to do is DON'T OPEN THAT DOOR! It, in my mind, is like offensive TV or a Movie, just change the channel or don't watch it at all. Many of you probably participate in hobbies or sports that I will never attempt, for one reason or another, but I do not condemn you for doing so! For the life of me I don't understand how thousands of good people can spend their hard earned money knocking their little white ball, with their own clubs, around in someone else's big green yard. But, by the same token, many of those folks don't understand how I can have the desire to spend my hard earned money on a hunting trip. I always say I can feed my family with the results but I have never gotten a golf ball to taste right no matter how I cooked it! We are all different in many ways but we are also passionate about one particular thing and that is why we are here. Lets hope we can keep that PRIORITY as number one!
Just respect one another and NEVER lose sight of the fact the world is a big place, filled with a great number of differences, so post accordingly. If we take care of one another there will never be a need to lock or unlock in doors in our castle. We are all equal all the time from the very first day you enter our walls. Thats what we wanted in the beginning and thats what sustains us today.

I really do agree. I understand all too well how we want to "be heard", but sometimes find my opinions have no context to relevant topics, or are simply a bit too controversial. I tend to edit myself and will go back and delete comments that really have no constructive basis towards our hobby.  I also think that collectors outside the US won't always understand U.S. political issues, where in-depth debate could be alienating. That said, I think everyone here strikes me as pretty polite and mature, and I'm sure we can respect each other's differences and still have some chat on these subjects.

I find all the Members of the Forum are well behaving.  Honest and Sincere and help others.
IT IS A FAMILY of Numismatists or Coin Collectors.
If some one make 'errors' in the family, what we do.   Do we throw  the Father or Son or Daughter out??
I have not come any such incident.  Each has his/her right to speak.
If anything have happened, let us FORGIVE AND FORGET. If any one has offended by any one's remark, send him/her a private message.  Surely, you will get a reply that "I am sorry and it is not intentional"
We all are friends, relatives and family members.

Wonder what golf hunting would be like? Should we shoot them in the air or sneak up on them? I do know a few people who hunt golf balls but they take them alive and sell them back to the folks that let them get away in the first place? One thing is for certain, those little golf critters sure can take a beating and still look like a newborn!
I will suggest that none of you attempt to cook the little devils as I have tried every thing and they are still pretty tasteless an hard as nails! With the right spices you can come up with a nice flavored soup!

I've given up on golf season, because they're so hard to skin.
