I imagine he is watching the GOLD market very closely! ;D  He is a valued and knowledgeable member of this community and I must assume he is lurking around but just doesn't have much to say right now. Hopefully we will hear from him soon!

He and Merlin may be taking in a classic movie and sharing a brew? Merlin does get around you know!!!

If silver keeps dropping like it has been  I might become a buyer again. Before people remember that Laural and Hardy are controlling the money supply.

I had emailed August a while back, and he replied to me day before yesterday.  He didn't comment on his activities, but at least we know he's alive and well. :)

Do add this coin to my collection?

Sure wish he would get back on the forum with his oppinions on gold. Got a fella that is trying to sell me some old gold and asking an arm and a leg for the pleasure of having it in my possession. Not sure what the going price is for such stuff and figure Sir August would have some good hard facts on the subject.

I just finished reading Don Quichote de la Mancha all 1000 pages of it in a new english translation . I killed more then one bag of wine on my queste
( Famous scene Don Quichote spearing wineskins floading an inn with wine but I drank the wine )
This morning the dollar broke upwards again against the euro so I expect gold to go down ( 725-760$ are computer generated predictions bah )

I traded a bronze crucifix against perfume and threw in a belgian king with bezel and got settled the difference by paypal
The american professional goldsmith gave me what he gets himself first 12 carat is assumed from europe for the bezel that is 50% gold but american gold goes as low as 8 carat . Second 80% of melt is paid between professionals which you will probably not get on selling. So presume 1/3 gold (8 carat ) and 50% of melt as a fair price when the dollar price is around 760 . I would not buy for more .

PS Humpybong ; I am a very atypical flemish I drink wine and cognac and scottish whiskey but yes I have been overworking my computer with useless predictions and see more pain down before gold goes up again. The turning poing may be the US having a new president ; then they can let the dollar drop again and gold go up.

PPS2 Those that missed me thank you . This is the first time in my life somebody misses me

Yes you are right but I am in serious trouble
I promessed my wife she could have my coins for jewelry when they get worthless and she claims they are on their way there
So gold better get going on its way to 1200$  8)

As I had forgotten about the purity of our gold and the usual 'carat' count, I find this to be totally relevant and in line with what seems reasonable. In fact, I would consider myself lucky to get 50% on sale of such items. Like you I kind of wish that gold would go up a little after I get around to buying at the current price. (or at least I now know what to offer... thank you!)

As for never being missed, I'm not sure I believe this statement. Surely Europe has better marksman that that, or so I have been let to believe. ;)

I was marksman in the army. Once you get up close to 3 feet with a FAL on semi automatic it is difficult to miss even if you try  ;D
I realise I missed your humour  :P

Welcome back! I just read that China's stocks are the worse performing thus far. Maybe some of the smarter ones will migrate to metals?

Like a lot of people remarked ; try and get silver or gold at the present prices ; nobody seems to be selling or having stock
The price is made by future contracts and some people think gold and silver will be kept down untill the US got a new president

Welcome back August....all of us did miss you

My friend OldDan made a remark what lousy marksmen some people are to miss me .
However since we are knights we do not use harkebusses or flintlocks or whatever

Now a longbow that is another story
So I am glad you missed me ; I missed myself  ;D
Allthough I must say that Don Quijote de la Mancha was quiet entertaining ( This is what I read during summer)
