I use now a search filter that is so long with the string of exclusions of crap that IE refuses to save it as a bookmark

Me and my friend the coindealer have our own classification system but it is largely unpublishable

Like cherry unpicked immensly fxxxxble that would be MS65 or better
Unfingered desirable MS64
Rouged whxxxx

Here you can see the mistake monnaie de paris made
The winning designer Starck made a non flat coin ( that is the coin is golving )
They put it in a normal capsule and the coins highest point damaged the coin and the capsurle by turning around in the mail
I do not think a single coin survived the mailing unscathed

Now I am going to have to dig mine out and check it for damage!!! :o You must admit it was a very unique design and, if I remember correctly, it did win the COTY Award (Coin of the Year). I have noticed, if the coins were left in thier original packaging they toned very quickly. Certainly not my favorite coin but still a unique holding even if it is now worthless?

Well Paint Your Wagon we have at least one thing in common. I don't like toning either. As you said, toning is damage, regardless of the extent of it and it can only get worse! Never better!

I absolutely love the Netherlands silver bullion coins that are produced each year. The design changes as the KNIGHT on the obverse is from one of their Provinces (I believe they call them provinces) every year. I sure do favor those KNIGHTS for some reason or another but they are a bit pricey in my mind but ALL silver from the world's mints are pricey now!!!

Re: ebay

Part of the problem is the fact Ebay will let a seller PAY to advertise in more than one area. Coins could be listed under the proper country, gold or silver, bullion, relics, antiquities and so on. It makes Ebay money but they then MUST have that auction appear under those lists even if WE do not wish to see it.
Another problem I am having, just as you are, is the mere fact sellers have learned ways to figure out how to NOT sell if they don't get the desired price. Just this week a seller, whom I had won an auction for a glider (plane) for my little boy, notified me he would be refunding my money immediately as most of his shipment was damaged. My answer to that was bull ____! You can't tell me he did not inspect the contents when they were delivered? The fact of the matter, after checking his other auctions for the same plane, was I got a heck of a deal on the auction I won as it was far below his "Buy it Now" price on the same item. Also my auction was offered with FREE SHIPPING so the seller would not make squat. He cancelled because he could and it is as simple as that.
I have had dealers in the past, who lost big money, simply tell me the coin was lost or it would be weeks before it could be located as they were moving into a new building. Yeah right! I insisted on waiting and made that dealer send me the $60 coin I bought for $12. I can play the game just like they do!

I bought Friedberg goldcoins of the world for half the price and the book got lost in the mail and I was offered a refund
I started an ebay complaint and said I would up it to a paypal complaint in seven days
After two days the professional store said the book was returned to them by the postoffice because some date was wrong
Three days later I got the book and as suspected apart from the printed postage stamp there was no date whatsoever

I have been told by persons that have done it that if you offer 500 euro outside of ebay for a coin worth 500 euro and you can pick up the item
it suddenly gets delisted with no cost to the vendor and no risk to the buyer
Unfortunately I am not going to drive to germany for a coin but between all the crap I have to look at and damaged goods and cheap purchases getting refunded , I am quitting in a few months when goldprices are probably going to explode

The Brolga (Grus rubicunda), formerly known as the "Native Companion", is a bird in the crane family. The bird has also been given the name "Australian Crane", a term coined in 1865 by well-known ornithological artist John Gould in his Birds of Australia.

The Brolga is a common gregarious wetland bird species in tropical and eastern Australia, well known for its intricate mating dance.

Monnaie de Paris has to be the most active mint in the world. They turn out more garbage in record numbers than any mint I have seen in my life. If I remember correctly they did 92 commeratives in 2002? The only good thing I can find out of this type of gouging is the fact their mintages are usually around 10,000 unless it is an item the whole world might be interested in. Greed driven

I seem to see that Monnaie de Paris has a few marketing strategies

1 turn out 5 ounce gold coins at 99 pieces only
2 turn out 1 ounce or half ounce gold coins at 500 pieces
3 turn out medals and silver coins as fast as possible
4 this is a little known strategy : monnaie de paris by charter has the right to coin MONEY ; so anybody willing to pay their price can commission anything he likes and it will not be a medal but a COIN

Not really gold but my wife wanted this
So I asked the Limey if I could bid ( he as zero offers sofar and there are about a dozen americans selling this)
Limey said NO
He said only English could bid
Well I will watch with intrest whether he sells or not
He or She should change their name into IF I growup which is not certain
In the meantime a german woman ungraciously allowed me to be the highest bidder and then talk to me when I am the highest bidder . These ebayers have a rude awakening coming the following years

MS58  ::) ::) ::)
And the vendor is serious about is MS58  :D
It looks quite overgraded at that , quite circulated

An amazing rarity in Mint State 58 as over here there is NO such grade. I could live with a AU-58 grade but I do get so sick of reading all the Ebay hype of rare! Rare is defined as "Highly valued due to uncommonness" or "Infrequently occurring; uncommon," which does not apply to most coins in the world. When an Ebay seller titles his auctions with rare I know it is a con before even opening the auction.

For real eye appeal in gold you need to be an MS64 plus or a smooth XF or lower

Now look what Gibraltar did to Europe on the bull
They sank a 30 grams copper capsule in the middle of a 20 grams gold ring
Why make so big a piece of shit ? 50 grams at 40% gold only ?
And what a tame fairy design  ???

Yes the " Brittish" are still quite prudish as well as the "American"
When I was in Daytona beach florida they asked money to drive your car onto
the beach and they backed their halftrucks or station wagons straight into the
ocean ; dangling their feet in the water and having crates of beer beside them
At the same "time" in Ibiza I wandered by accident onto a full nude beach and
all beaches were topless the girls running excercises topless  :D
I learned german by watching uncensored films when all europe was still
using those ugly blacked out circles  >:( that was like1963 ish

Yes the roman italian catholic church tried to instill sin and confession with three collections of money every sunday . It is now run by an Hitler jugend
That reminds me that those pedophile priests are the biggest sinners of them all and are just transferred to another village to start allover again as long as the church can hide it
In the meantime the new Archbishop of Belgium -like 75 years old - does not condone contraception
If he did he would not have been born I am sure .
We were taught fear and shame in order to control us . The person that can absolve our sins in the name of
God has to be far superior . One of those retired f_____s had the nerve to ask my wife if he could come
and have lunch with her every weekday when I was working . I am happy to say she kicked him out of the house with his unseemly request . I guess that as a retired priest he lost his maid  >:( >:( >:( and wanted replacement

MS60 with light scratches ( nearly invisible the vendor says and those scratches
shout at me )
Napoleon I and Ludovica ( which I presume is Marie Louiese his second wife)
No weight given, no purity given and a zero feedbacker selling it
Not to me though

Ah the list grows longer. Bottom line the filthy rich didn't get that way by being honest! They are like screwdrivers and we are the screws! ;D

I always shy away from those Ebay sellers with low feedback and tremendous coin & medal knowledge. They are the ones who always use the word "RARE" and usually if you check their other offerings they have four or five of those RARE coins for sale at the same time! :o

years now and every week at that .

Maybe I should commission Daneil to strike a "Witch Nut" medallion which would actually be rare and valuable money in their domain? And of course I would be the only one to have access to these rare and valuable coins to be sold on Ebay and all the faithful followers of the Legend! ;) I would have years to sell them off? Go for it and make it a copper strike first silvered and then guilded so you can say it
is guilded silver . Say it is very rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrare at only numbers one to ten
and the number them A1-till A10 etc till Z1 till Z10 then AA1 till AA10 :
you get the idea  ;D
And for the knights you make a first edition strike in silver  :D

I managed to buy a fake U.S. dollar a few years back. It is well know over here they were the most counterfeited gold coin for years and years. After getting it authenticated (which is wasn't) the dealer gave my money back and promptly placed it back in his display case for sale! I don't do business with him any longer and I NEVER look at $1 gold coins any more. Too many fakes!

PYW I sure hope you come out on that one. Those craters are a pretty good give a way! Keep us posted!
