Cruising.
February 01, 2017, 10:14:00 AM
My wife and I will be away on vacation from tomorrow morning until February 20th, so we will be un-contactable.
I hope everyone stays well while I'm gone and I will see you all when I return.
We will be cruising around the top of Australia, then to East Timor, Indonesia and Singapore.

No! The wife gave up smoking and that pays for the cruises.

I'm sure we will have a great time. Thanks guys. :)

Well I'm back and not such a good cruise this time.
First 6 days were OK, but then I came down with a very
bad dose of gastro. Had trouble eating and drinking and
became severely dehydrated. So much so, that I had to be
put on a saline drip. Medical bill was $680. Also missed 3
of my shore tours, including East Timor, where I was hoping
to get lots of coins. Spent 4 days quarantined in my cabin.
Spent a couple more days recovering and came good by the
last day. Spent some time in Singapore, so we got to see some
goods sights there. Now I have to make a claim on the travel
insurance. Don't leave home without it!  ;D

:o wow that's no good Steve and gee they don't miss you but glad your ok mate but not a good way to spend your holiday :( But welcome back :) They had a thing on the news last week about a heap of people getting sick on a cruise and sounded like what you had and they said the staff were serving food with gloves on and using tongs so it must have been pretty nasty.

There is always tongs to use, but you still have to touch the same end of the tongs as everyone else. There are hand sanitiser stations everywhere and I use them all the time. Just unlucky this time. My wife and son were both OK.

We should organise a meeting of the Knights and Knightesses on a cruise ship.
Maybe we could sell medals to fund it. :)

Anything for a buck eh A K? But a cruise would be nice. Someone should line one up 'down there'.

Find 3 other people to share an interior cabin with you and you can do a 7 night cruise for just $599.
Cheap as chips. Just have to sell a few nice coins AK. :)

Yes that sounds cheap enough but that's still nearly a weeks pension  :-\ All my nice coins I want to keep and they're not worth much, more sentimental value but that's ok because I collect because I like it not to make money  :D
