2015 Coins
December 18, 2015, 10:54:48 AM
Well it's nearing the end of 2015 and finding Aussie 2015 coins has been difficult.
I have only found a 50c and $1, so I still need 5c, 10c, 20c and $2. Must the worst
year ever for finding circulated coins. How are the rest of you going at finding this
years coins in your countries? Post up some pics. Here's the 2 I've found...

Found 20c, 50c and $2 coins over here.

Think I had a 5c as well but cannot find it at the moment.

Not very well.
Main problem is that Germany has five mints and thus five mint marks.
In 2015, 1c, 2c, 5c, 20c, and three 2 Euro CC have been entered in circulation. That's 35 (!!) different coins this year. At the moment, I just found 15. At least one of each denomination. The most difficult to find is usually mint mark ''A'' (Berlin mint). Those coins usually show up in the East and travel very slowly to the West.

For the UK:

Have found:
Old portrait 1 pence to 2 pound coins.
New portrait 1 pence, 2 pence, 5 pence, and 20 pence coins.

Still looking for:
new portrait 10 pence, 50 pence, 50 pence Battle of Britian, 1 pound Royal Arms, 2 pound Britannia, 2 pound Royal Navy, and 2 pound Magna Carta coins.

I have all but one now, still waiting on the $1 2015 Anzac, but not even sure if it's supposed to circulate.
Of the following coins, I only found the 10c & 5c.  The rest were sent to me by my sister who lives approx 750 KMs south of me.

$2 2015 Elder

$1 2015 MoR

50c 2015

20c 2015

10c 2015

5c 2015

I think it is a circulating coin, but a very low mintage. I don't expect to find one over here in W.A.
(I hope I am wrong and there will be plenty)
I added the $2 to my collection yesterday.

Here are some very recent finds from circulation.
And yes, brand new German 1 Euro coins mint-mark ''D'' are being found these days. The date on the coin is NOT when it was minted but when it was ordered! Some of these 1 Euro coins as late as 2008!
The Bundesbank miscalculated the need for certain denomination between 2002 and 2004. Some denominations have not been minted or ordered for circulation since 2004.
