Israeli Mint Sets
November 03, 2013, 02:51:31 PM
Today I drove 160 miles (265 km) round trip to attend a coin show. The Israeli mint sets are quite reasonable at $2 U S for each set. I picked up 4 sets 40 yrs old and older with their mintages being from 93 k to 186 k.
(Gas is down to $3 gallon now where I live......did I gain anything? No.....spent $24 for gas)

It is pity Mr. Goose you write sooner. You could buy more cheap israeli mint sets and we could change them or I could buy it from you.

Just as well it is not always about the cost, otherwise we wouldn't but anything.  :)

Wow, I couldn't imagine driving 160 miles to a coin show unless it was the ANA show. Around here we have coin shows almost every weekend within a reasonable driving distance. We went to ANA back in 2011 in Chicago, which is a 5 hour drive, but we went on a chartered bus. That's the only way I would go to get to such a far away show.  :)

I attend that show about every other month and sometimes I don't buy anything. Since my favorite 'hobby' is driving (About 24 k miles/yr --- 40 k km/yr), the gas usage and cost don't bother me at all.

One thing I noticed at the coin show yesterday was that the U S proof (S) Sacagawega $1 single coin was  high priced......anywhere from $6 to $12 each. I've seen unc rolls go for as low as $50.
