I live in Belgium
Northen parameters same as new york but we are a northsea country

Cold and snow like 8 weeks this year which is only to be expected
every ten years
Now suddenly since yesterday temps shot up to 12 C which are spring temps
Exceptional whether but still within Gaussian expectations of 95% or 4 sigma

Where I am going I ain't certain
Where I am going I don't know

I live in south east Queensland, where the weather is said to be "beautiful one day, perfect the next'.  We have 2 more days of summer to go and I can't wait for the heat to be gone.  The worst temperature so far this summer was 37°C, (about 104°F), but some places in Australia it gets to the mid 40's.

Our winters are usually very mild, and you might think it a bit odd but I've never ever seen snow! I can't even begin to imagine how cold it gets in some places in the USA. Australia does get snow, just not Queensland.  There would not be too many houses in Queensland that have Central Heating, it's just not necessary.

I have been telling people for years that I prefer winter to summer, because in summer there's a limit to what you can do to keep cool, but in winter you can always find some way to get warmer.  March can be  a trying month as the humidity is often around the 80 - 90% mark and very sticky.  I love the period from about mid April to September. Not too hot, not too cold. Just lovely!

Pretty much the same as Templars, save it being a bit colder but less of the snow than y'alls got because we live closer to the arctic.

I am in San Antonio Texas.  The weather here is seesawing.  One day we'll have a lovely 70 degrees and sunny, the following morning we'll have rain at 32 degrees.  Right now it appears to be sunny with a few white fluffy clouds, and the weatherman says it's about 50 degrees outside.  It'll warm up nicely this afternoon.

Re: WEATHER

I am in Perth, Western Australia.
We are having the hottest and driest summer on record. The last two days have been over 40C and we haven't seen any decent rain for about 100 days.
The drought was official broken a couple of weeks ago when they recorded 0.2mm of rain, which is nothing. Night time temperature is about 25C. I don't have air con, so when I go to bed it's like laying on sheets that have just come out of the clothes drier. As I am typing this it's 11PM and sweat is dripping off me.
The weather has been strange in other parts of W.A. too. W.A. is huge (yes, bigger than Texas) and in our north it is a tropical climate, so they really only have two seasons, the Wet and the Dry. This time of year is the Wet season and they should be getting heaps of rain, but it has been very dry in parts. Although I spoke to one of my customers in Kunnunurra today (that's as far north as you can get) and he said they finally got some rain in the last few days. He recorded 150mm (6 inches) of rain in the last three days. Now if only I could get some of that rain here, my garden might not look like a waste land.

I remember when I lived in Houston that in December and January it could be in the 90's one day, then be bitterly cold ie 20's the next day.  Oh gosh, San Antonio, miss the restaurants and the shopping there.  Betwixt there and Houston lies the promised land, the area around Washington on the Brazos, where I think is just about the loveliest place in spring I have ever seen.  Indian paintbrush and bluebonnets at sunrise.  Just incredible.

At least here it is consistently cold - and getting more snow today :)

I live in central Minnesota- U S A, about 250 miles south of the Canadian border. In winter on the average, it gets down to -20 F to -30 F (-28 C to -34.5 C). Our record low was just 14 yrs ago this month at -42 F (-42 C). We now have 14" (35.5 cm) of snow on the ground. Summers? Quite pleasant with the highest temps around 90 F (32 C) and our summer lows around 55 F (12.5 C). There is a lot of water around here....rivers & lakes.

I live in South East Kentucky and winter can be a little odd around here.  This year has been a little worse than usual. Temps only in the 20's to low 30'sF most days, lows been getting down 10's lots of nights. We have had at least snow flurries most days for over two months now. Kids have missed over 25 day's of school this year. I heard the other day that we had a Jan average temp colder than Denver Col this year. We try and have a little of what every one else is having when it comes to weather. I have seen 15 below zero in winter and 112 in summer with 100% humidity. So if anyone has weather that we don't have let me know and we will try and get some. The best thing about our weather is that it usually changes fairly quickly to something else.   ;D

Talking about weather

Last night was amazing; I spent it with my two daughters and my wife watching the sky from our living room window. It was a great show. The sky of Cairo last night was as if morning has came at midnight, lightening and thunder for at least two continuous hours, and I mean continuous. Simply World War III . :)

Speaking about rain, simply it was a shower. Then something magnificent happened, I know that for most of you it is a usual thing to see, but for me it is my first time. Taking in consideration that I am 37 years old it is my first time to see snow.

Yes, in Egypt, it rained snow or whatever it is called. I know that the word Egypt and snow are not compatible with each other but that’s what happened.

The TV, satellite and the land lines were dead for about three hours and I checked with my mother and brother through our mobiles since they live in two other cities and my brother told me that the street in front of his house is WHITE. :o

Although it was a terrifying night, it is to be remembered as the night when snow visited Egypt. ;)

Amr :) :) :)

This is what the news wrote;

Four people were killed and more than 50 hurt as bad weather wreaked havoc across Egypt, pelting the capital with a freak hail storm and smashing a luxury liner into a pier, officials and media said Friday.

In the northern Mediterranean city of Alexandria, waves as high as a two-storey building pounded the coast, media reports said.

Thursday evening's hail storm in Cairo, the first in many years, caused mayhem in the capital, snarling traffic and bringing the sprawling city to a virtual standstill.

Cars crawled on the slippery roads as lightning periodically lit up the drenched streets.

The downpour followed a heat wave and caught many off guard.

Tourists near the Giza Pyramids, on the outskirts of the capital, ducked for cover from the frozen, marble-sized pellets.

In Alexandria, authorities closed down ports after winds reached 30 knots (55.5 kilometres an hour) and waves six-metre (19-feet) high pounded the shore, the daily Al-Masry Al-Youm reported.

Up here in Toronto, we've had a very mild winter.  Until this morning, we haven't had a single snowfall of over 2-3 inches all winter.  The last two years, I've had so much snow that I couldn't pile it any higher in my front yard (which is a little larger than my driveway, but shared with the townhouse next door.)  It's nice to finally have a winter that wasn't quite so brutal, although it looks like the US is taking a pounding instead of us this year.

Yes Topher WE have your snow and we would very much like for you to come and get it!!! A few minutes ago we were put under another winter weather advisory for the next 13 hours. Oh great! We were just starting to get a break. It was only getting down to 8 degrees windchill and around 14 degrees at night. Twice in the last three days we got up to 32 degrees and NOW more wind and snow? It has been that way, it seems, forever this winter! Guess I need a vacation in sunny Wyoming?
Cabin fever has set in and old man winter just refuses to release his grip on Indiana. Actually it seems to be from central Indiana downward to the southern states that gets the beating. Oddly a snow storm that just missed us the other night, and is currently pounding the eastern seaboard, has gone into a spiral pattern which is bringing it right back to us tonight! Ungrateful New Englanders should be ashamed. We expected nothing in return for our gift to them!!!
More weather news tomorrow! Right after I dig out the driveway ONE more time!!! :'(

One nice thing, if there is a nice thing, is the mere fact there is so much snow piled on the side of the roads the wind is blowing it over the roads now instead of trapping it. But NEW snow will make a mess again! Oh how I long for a mild Wyoming winter in the mountains with Old Dan! Well at least you expect the beauty of the snow up there!

I just found out that one of our towns in the North West, Paradurdoo, has had temperature exceeding 40C for the last 40 days straight.
They have had 40C + days for 76 of the last 84 days, the hottest day being 47.4C

That is not a record though, that belongs to Marble Bar, 460Km north east of Paraburdoo. They suffered through 100 days straight at 40C + temperatures in the summer of 1923-1924. In this same year they entered the Guinness Book of Records, when they exceed 37.8C (100F) for 161 consecutive days.

There are reports of hail stone 4 inches across. Many car and homes were severely damaged.
Streets became rivers.

At last our drought has been broken in Perth.
We had about 110 days with no rain (except that 0.2mm).
Yesterday we had a massive storm come through and drop a heap of rain and hailstones.
I was just about to leave work, when the gutter overflowed and flooded the showroom.
I stayed back to mop it up, but by 9.30PM I had had enough and the job was only half done.
Not looking forward to going in to work today.

Well it's official, the big storm we had is Perth's worst ever natural disaster.
So far the monetary cost has reached $848 million and still climbing.
It's expected to take as long as 2 years to get everything repaired.
