Big Cats on World Banknotes
August 02, 2008, 03:23:02 PM
This feline is featured on South Viet Nam 500 Dong, 1972, P-33a. A very colorful note I must say!

The Tanzania one was pretty inexpensive. The Rhodesian note is, I think, the most valuable note I have in my small note collection, at around $40 if I remember properly.

They're all beautiful notes, and I particularly like the Vietnamese one for capturing the strength of the animal...nice kitty.

I found some photos of banknotes with lion. I think the banknote from Suid Africa is very nice.

FYI the reverse of the current Reserve Bank of India 10 Rupee note has a tiger on it. I had to buy a bunch of these cat notes for my sister awhile back.
