Thanks Redlock. I only just saw this reply. I was going by what it says on Numista. They list them as circulating coins.

Some recent additions to my collection are Slovenia 3 euro coins.
I was surprised to see these are actually circulating coins.

Sorry. But I need to correct you. These €3 coins are legal tender ONLY in Slovenia and not in the rest of the Euro zone. Morevover, they are NCLT. Just like the German €5 and €10 coins, and which are legal tender in Germany only.
But these €3 are really nice. I initially wanted to collect them. But, in the end, I did not. One has to draw a line somewhere. My resources for coin (and banknote) collecting have been limited for quite some time.

Exonumia for Exonumist / Proof first test strikes
« Last post by Turtle on April 03, 2026, 11:49:55 AM »
I bought this recently from Ron’s personal stash from Timothy.
The reason I bought it was I knew from experience that first proof strikes don’t always come out perfect like you hope.
I helped Dan Carr with his Amazonian Essay Dollars, and Dan gave me the first 8 proof strikes, 16 in all were minted, but Dan wasn’t happy with them , so he sold his 8 as “bulk handled “ proof likes, and proceeded to sand blast the dies and changed the finish on the dies to a satin finish. So the rest of them had a satin finish (339 of them), although I did talk him into turning 40 of the 399 into color-toned.
I said all that to let y’all know that the first strike test strike from Ron Landis may not be the prettiest proof from him, but it is a first strike proof of his 1796 Draped Bust, and I don’t want  part with it, if I ever part with it , it’ll take a huge amount of money…….. I’ve put my 2024 first strike proof Amazonian Essay up for sale on eBay for $4999.99 and didn’t really want it to sell because I really don’t want to part with it. Same thing with the Landis it’s a rare piece that I really don’t want to sell, and realized what I was really getting when I saw it‼️

I tried to down load pic of both these first proof test strikes but it didn’t let me ‼️😱
But I was able to post the pictures in my galleries if you want to see them ‼️👍👍🎯
I finally got both these first “test strikes” to download, yay ‼️👍🎯🎯‼️
