A nifty silver coin, Ecuadorian, 5 Sucres.  1943, minted in Mexico City.

It was named after Antonio José de Sucre.  This guy graces a good portion of the Ecuadorian coins that I've seen, and is quite recognizable by his large snout. ^^

wow. I thought the portrait on the obverse was an eagle at first, cuz thats one hell of a beak!

I really don't understand why they chose this cartoonish portrait.  There are so many nicer ones that look much more realistic!
