Too many new releases is driving people away from collecting.

And yes, there are too many new 50p releases, too many in general. Unfortunately, that seems to be a sign of times.

Having said that, the Royal Canadian Mint has been surprisingly ''frugal'' this year. Regarding circulation commemoratives there are just the two ''Amisitce'' Toonies.

I wouldn't mind all the extra issues if each could stand on it's own merit.
