Getting a package from the other side of the planet was exciting enough. But opening it up and seeing a bunch of great Australian coins made my day! Thanks again.
Here is a scan of the oldest coin of the lot. I'll get more posted under this topic in the next couple of days. The reputation of the generosity of our Aussie members is well deserved.

Glad they arrived safely......hope you enjoy them.
A pleasure to help out.

Here is another nice one. I've got a couple others in the gallery, and about ten that have not yet been scanned.

Oh, by the way, which side is the obverse, and which is the reverse?
I think the guy with the hat is the reverse, but I'm not sure.
-
The Queen is the obverse.
:) :) :) :)

You were correct Adam....the guy with the hat is the reverse.
Oh by the way....the guy with the hat is an ANZAC soldier (First World War) and the coin is a commemorative for The Last ANZACS.

ANZAC (Australian & New Zealand Army Corps). If interested, google ANZAC and it give will a short history, see the wikipedia version.

One more beauty that was in my package from Australia. The rest will slowly make their way to my part of the gallery, starting with this one and 2 others on page nine of my gallery.

Oh and by the way, I did a little reading on the ANZACS. Very interesting bit of history there.
