The Royal Mint has started a new bullion coin range (gold and silver coins).

Here is the 2 ounce silver coin.

The 2oz Silver Lion coin is awesome!  Is it priced like bullion, a set price over spot available at dealers, or is it something ordered from the mint at a collectable premium?  Very nice piece either way.

UK price of silver is 10.872 GBP per ounce....so the bullion value today is 21.744 GBP.  They are selling the coin at 32.08 GBP without value (to add further insult to UK folks - we have to pay a 20% tax on the coin as well).

I have not seen the coin at any dealers but suspect they are selling it as premium since they sell the 2016 bullion silver Britannia for 19.05 GBP and Apmex sells it for 18.59 US dollars.

Now here is a comparison for the 1 ounce gold Queen's Beasts:
