I have a 4.5kg pile of bulk world coins to sort through.
Let the fun begin. I'll post up some pics later of any nice finds.
Does anyone else enjoy sifting through piles like this?
-
Nothing like having a big pile of unknown coins to look though. :) You never know what might be hid in there. 8) 8) 8) 8)

I used to go to my local Coin Store, (VP Coins) and stand at the counter for a couple hours at a time and pick out any coins from the 'foreign' box that did not look familiar to me. I also found quite a few error coins this way.
Price was 6 coins for $1. If I could have just bought 1 or 2kg for a set price, I would have, but he didn't sell them that way. I mostly came home with 50-60 coins.
I haven't done it for some years, and standing like that would wreck my poor ole legs now.

Nancy, I did that at the one and only coin show I went to.
It's surprising how you remember what coins you have.
-
Managed to pull 191 new additions out of that pile of coins. :)

Any breakdown as to what countries were in that lot of bulk coins?

Too many to list, but about 50 to 60 countries. No Namibia, but a few South Africa,
So I have send you a list of the spares from S.A.

Still sorting the coins, but here are a few pictures.
Will add more as I sort them.

Hey Steve, what are you going to do with the leftover coins? Interested in selling them?

I have already added them to my swaps.
Would you like me to e-mail you the list?
-
Steve,
Please put some for sale/swap/auction on our auction site.
Need to have more usage.

I was going to, but later.
I'll see if I can sort something quicker and put it up. :)

Rec'd OK, thanks Steve. It's going to take me a while to figure out which ones I need, so please be patient.
When something is in red, does that have a special meaning?
-
Take your time Nancy. No hurry.
The red did mean a new addition, but that was the last time added coins.
I forgot to do the new additions in red this time. :(
-
Can I get that list too? ;D

That quarter dinar from Jordan is just one of those coins that catches my eye. I like it. 8) 8) 8) 8)

Yes, I quite like that one too. I added 1996 and 1997 in that coin type.
So I completed the set in one go. :)
