2016 seems to become a very interesting year for circulation coinage in Australia.
The RAM just annouced this
Mint makes decimal currency history with the flip of a coin

Anyone already ordered the 50 Cent pack?
-
Yes it is...I already have a full uncirculated set of these coins.
Just waiting on the circulating coins to be released. The 50cent coin will be the first.
-
Yeah, waiting on 2 sets to be delivered, don't expect to get rich but a memento thing.
-
Have seen the "normal" 2016 50 cent COA and $1 MOR in change. I asked the mint and the reply is that both the 50th and normal will be in circulation, but numbers unknown at this time. Also have received a couple of the 2015 Anzac $1s in change.
-
I have found 2 of the 50th anniversary 50 cents in circulation.

I continue to be highly amazed by the coins you find in circulation.
I found my first coin of 2016 -- 1 Cent mint-mark ''F'' -- on Monday, June 13, 2016 (except for two German 2016 €2 cc earlier in the year).

I should clarify, that when I say "I", I mean they have been found, but usually by friends of mine, who then hand them over to me.
Got given another one today. :)
-
It's not fair, I've still got months to go before they show up here so why is it that they're showing up there earlier than usual ???

I am also helped by family and sometimes a friend (who has access to a cash register in a small business). And the result is still very meager this year. :(

I feel sorry for you Ralf. You have to collect 5 mints for every denomination. It's a big job. :(
-
I have gone a bit overboard with these changeover coins this year because I like the designs and it is the first time Ever that every denomination is a commemorative
I have 2 sets of rolls, 5 mint sets, the proof set and a multitude of Mint "Baggies"
This is also the first time that RAM has made every denomination available in the $10 baggies But with all the delays in RAM's shipping system this year I fear that the "Baggies" will be axed in future.

I ordered 3 bags of $2 coins over a week ago. One bag at a time with $10 postage each and none have been shipped yet. There was stock available when I ordered them. I sent an email asking when they would be shipped, but no response yet. I also need to order another bag, but they are temporarily out of stock at the moment. I'm trying to make up 20 sets so I need these $2 coins. :(
-
I have 9 different orders that have yet to be shipped from RAM yet and the customer service has been abysmal.
With the $2 coins you would be better off getting a roll of them, At about the same cost as 5x baggies with $50 postage and you won't have to wait for RAM to finally send them and the coins should be in better condition as well.
-
Isn't that why they are called...RAM...Royal Australain Muckups
;D

I did think about it, but I was stretching the budget to get 4 bags. I had to sell off some of my banknotes. :(

Has anyone else noticed that the coins in the little "baggies" from RAM seem to be of a higher quality than the coins that they used for the annual Mint sets ?
-
I don't buy the mint sets, but from what I have seen of the coins in the "baggies", they are not that flash.
I have bought at least 20 of each coin and am struggling to find a descent one for my collection of each denomination.

Is it that bad? :o

Yes, there are lots of clear fields on the coins, so plenty of places to cop knocks.
