Merry Christmas to everyone. ;D ;D ;D It's a busy time but a very good time around the Church this time of the year. It is part of my job to take care of the food baskets we give out, and this year we had several treat bags left over from our Sunday School so the Preacher suggested I give them out to the elderly who don't normally get to come to Church. While giving out these treat bags I made the comment that, "you know these old people are nuts over these treats, even more so than the kids". The guy who was helping me said, you do understand that you are the second oldest man in the Church and I'm the oldest. I told him to hush and pass me another treat bag.  ;D ;D ;D ;D Fun times.  :) :) :) Gold Bless all the Knights.

pocketcoins . Allthough I am all alone that brightened my evening. :)

Over here the priests are on vacation
My doctors sister got buried yesterday and it was a priests helping lady who did the honors at the funeral ( accolyte ? ) because
no priest was available . They were all somewhere else

Reduced my ''internet activity'' over the Christmas days (Dec. 25 and Dec. 26 are National Holidays here in Germany).
So, I hope everyone had a nice, quiet, peaceful Christmas.

Pocketcoins' entry above made me laugh -- (hopefully he doesn't mind  ;) )

People who think the Lord doesn't have any hummer probably haven't ever looked at themselves.  ;D ;D ;D

Christmas days (Dec. 25 and Dec. 26 are National Holidays here in Germany).

In the UK, the 25th and 28th were bank holidays since Boxing Day fell on a Saturday, so we had a 4 day weekend.

We closed the office down at 13:00 on Christmas Eve and the owners of the company took us to the pub nearby for a drink.

Back to work on Tuesday.

So far a boring day at work after the break.

Watching some guys install an additional air con in the server room, moving network shares to the new homes, and checking several days of backups.

And I thought you liked warm and hot weather  ;)

Here in Germany, national holidays (or bank holidays as you seem to call them in UK and Australia) that are ''wandering'' through the week -- e.g. Christmas, Dec. 25 & 26; Unification Day, Oct. 3; Labour Day, May 1 -- are ''celebrated'' on the weekday there are ''on'' only. If they fall on a Saturday or Sunday there is no extra (Mon-)day off. So, some years are ''employer years'' (when the holidays fall on a weekend), some years are ''employee years'' (when they fall on Monday--Friday).

Not when it gets too hot. :)

Too Hot? Aw, that's too bad. At least you can go swimming. Being a little cool here (-9 C), the water gets stiff and we can walk on it.

Not in the ocean. Have you seen how many people get attacked by Great Whites down here.
Also need a new pool pump and cleaner, so the pool is green :(
Now go cut a hole in the ice and go fishing. :)

No. How many per year?

In reality it's probably not that many, about 3 deaths per year. There are also many more that don't end in death, but leave the survivors with less arms or legs. Western Australia is the shark attack capital of the world though. I'll take my chances on dry land. :)

In South Florida, ladies were more worried about land sharks than the ones which live in the sea.

Jimmy Buffett sings about them in song entitled Fins.
